EFCC arrests ex-PDP acting chairman, Secondus for collecting cars from Diezani’s associate

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Wednesday detained the Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus, for allegedly receiving 23 choice vehicles from a business associate of ex-Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke.

He was also grilled for about eight hours on the same curious gifts.

Secondus’s detention has created panic in PDP because some leaders of the party allegedly benefitted from the vehicles’ allocation.

Investigations showed that Secondus was picked up over statements made by Chairman of Atlantic Energy Drilling Concepts Nigeria Limited, Mr. Jide Omokore.

Omokore was arrested by the commission last week over investigation into fuel subsidy payments when Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke was the Minister of Petroleum Resources.

It was gathered that Omokore mentioned Secondus’ name during his interrogation over the fuel subsidy payments and other oil deals.

It was also learnt that names of some prominent members of the party, including a former chairman during the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan featured during the interrogation.

The source at the commission said that Secondus ought to have been arrested long ago, but was left because he was piloting the affairs of the party.

“He is being interrogated over 23 exotic cars, worth N302m he and some other people allegedly collected from Omokore. The cars included Mercedes G63 and Range Rover Autobiography,” the source said.

  3. Yes, PDP really killed Nigeria and its citizens. Anyone criticising the FG for making efforts to locate any stolen money or property should be invited also by EFCC to explain why they think this stolen wealth recovery should not be jettisoned

  8. what has his collection of cars have to do with corruption?. who among u all whining ur mouths who hav not received gifts before. Plus including the SAINT PMB. Pls i support fight against corruption but lets call a spade a spade. It is obvious the target will be PDP as long as the torchlight is on the federal level. Unless the EFCC move to states, it will remain PDP cus they are the once that pilot the affairs of the country for the past 16yrs.

    1. In the spirit of calling a spade a spade, how many cars has anyone living or dead ever given u at once. If u want to be blind to the plight of the nation's economy as a result of corruption, you can be blind alone. Don't come and use your veiled mind to fool anyone here.
