A source said the President gave the head of the agencies time to adapt to his administration, but they failed the test of integrity, adaptability and loyalty.
“They were too deeply committed to the past,” he added.
A statement by Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Babachir David Lawal, said the President approved that the most senior officers in the sgencies should oversee the activities of the organisations pending the appointment of substantive Chief Executive Officers.
Minister of Information and Culture Lai Mohammed met early in the morning with the CEOs of the six information-related agencies under his ministry to announce to them the government’s decision.
These are: Directors-General of NTA, Mr. Sola Omole, FRCN (Mr. Ladan Salihu), VON (Mr Sam Worlu), NOA (Mr. Mike Omeri), NBC (Mr. Emeka Mba) and NAN Managing Director.
Omeri, at about noon, handed over to Mrs Ngozi Ekeoba, promising to forever be an advocate of the NOA’s activities.
Mrs Ekeoba is the most senior director. She is in charge of Political, Civics, Ethics and Values in the agency.
Omeri expressed his gratitude to the past and present administration for the opportunity given him to serve the nation as NOA Director General and for the support given to the agency during his tenure. Omeri was appointed as Director General of NOA on January 16, 2012. Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday

ReplyDeleteBuhari you have lost focus
ReplyDeletewat of u? U've got focus ba?
DeleteBuhari is doing the right thing. In the current time, leaders must be ready to change for the better. Forward ever and backward never.
DeleteOf course, to the blind, the seeing eye smells! Do you have any focus? How can you see the good in BH. When you cannot see ...
Delete@David seun and the rest of the brainwashed rams it takes a wise man to talk like @gorefill and takes a fool to get battle with the truth
DeleteI totally agree with @gorefill group spokesman..the old man has lost tremendous amount of focus, a confused man shld not lead a country.
DeleteHmmmm fool president
ReplyDeleteNever lost
ReplyDeleteIt is coming too late but the new appointees should not come from one part of the country and should be merit based
ReplyDeleteGood move Baba
ReplyDeleteD's is not Democracy ..... wch constitution depicts D's Nonsense Another long ASSUU strike around de corner....and you are saying good...
DeleteI personally don't see how these moves of sacking people will help this country at this time. One Dollar = N345 as at today. A man that is broke goes on to sack his housemaid and says she is his problem. How can we explain that all these heads of parastatals are not adjusting to the so-called change? This move definitely has a military aroma. We had seen all these in the past. They create more problems than bring solutions.
ReplyDeleteU ar Objective Bros don't mind due Illiterates....
DeleteNigeria need total revamp. Many heads will roll. We cannot continue to dwell in the past.
ReplyDeleteThe axe is swinging. There is no room for crooks, past or present. The change must be total.
ReplyDeletesacking should follow due process, I don't think Mr President considered this fate before the move of sack these individual. They served the country in their various offices thus they required commendations. Sack warrants is good when the person is guilty or fails to measure up with Rules and Regulations. There is no substantial reason for sacking these Directors and its not proper. FG should try to solve some issues like BH, 345/dollar, unemployment etc. sacking officers will cause more harm than Good.
ReplyDelete70% are Biafrans appointed by the former kleptocrat. Hope Buhari will follow federal character when making the new appointments.
ReplyDeleteMallam Adamu Nuhu, your type is in the bush with their cattle. What are you doing on the internet?
DeleteMr president, pls foget unnecessary sackin n probin. Kindly focus on new economic policies.
