Former minister of aviation and spokesperson for former president Jonathan, Femi Fani Kayode, has warned President Muhammadu Buhari to ensure he maintains the safety of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mr Nnamdi Kanu, former National Security Adviser Sambo Dasuki and Ibraheem El- Zakzaky, the leader of Islamic Movement of Nigeria.
Mr. Fani Kayode issued the warning on Twitter Saturday: “El Zakzaky, Dasuki or Kanu must NOT be tortured, poisoned, beaten or murdered in custody or else all hell will break lose. Buhari take note.” He Twitted.

DeleteI agree that according to our laws the president ought to obey the order of the courts as regards bails for some of these guys, but the threat of FFK is very stupid. If they die in custody the heavens would not fall at all. The only thing that would happen is that the earth would open to receive their corpses and close it up. The only thing I wish is that the law is amended to make their incarceration legal until the court declares its judgement given the gravity of the offence they are accused of and the evidences against them.

Dasuki's actions caused many deaths; Kanu's crusade has caused many deaths; El Zaky's actions, which details are still fuzzy, may not be different. Suppose they are given life imprisonment, which they are likely to get, what difference? Buhari is bound by the provisions of our constitution to protect our lives. This is a national security question, not PDP rallying cases. Pray, Femi, that you are not implicated in any case of corruption. Of course, I know that is only a matter of time.

DeleteWhy are you being unnecessarily unreasonable. If armed robbers are attacking your relative (God forbids) and you have the opportunity to call police to defend him, would you not? If someone raped your sister (I pray it doesn't happen), would you report to the police or fight for the rapist to be prosecuted in the court. If the police did not respond to your call on time or they fail to prosecute the rapist in court, would you not blame them or the govt. If yes is your answer, then your response is hypocritical. God is the ultimate protector but the constitution assigns accountability for the security of lives and property to someone. Even though Israel believed in Jehovah as their protector, God did not stop them from maintaining an army.

ReplyDeleteKanu is accused of one of the most serious crimes against the State of planning to destroy it. Does Mr Fani-Kayode expect the Government to stand idly by and let this happen? May be his great benefactor- Jonathan Goodluck might have done. Just as he did when his friends were looting the National Treasury and sending peoples children to war without ammunition! Dasuki has many questions to answer and many people will be implicated as the questioning goes on including Jonanathan with his PHD.
If Dasuki is released tomorrow he could be lynched and killed by the public for the terrible things he has done. Should the criminals be fed sandwiches in prison when thousands of children don't even know the whereabouts of their parents anymore because of bokoharam or should they be given excourts when they instigate the death of innocent people while they live and cause mayhem from the UK or should I despise my neighbors for the fear of Islam: thanks to zakzaky preachings?
