The All Progressive Congress on Sunday condemned the transfer of the founder of the Adoration Ministries, Enugu, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, to a new parish by the Enugu Catholic Diocese.
Mbaka was moved from the Christ the King Parish, G.R.A, in Enugu metropolis, which he presided over as parish priest for over 20 years, to Our Lady Parish, in Emene, a suburb of the Coal City.
It was gathered that Mbaka, who was the parish priest-in-charge at the CKC Parish, G.R.A, will serve as an assistant parish priest in the new parish.
In a statement made available to journalists in Enugu, the APC South-East Caucus spokesman, Mr. Osita Okechukwu, said “it was wrong to punish the fearless priest for his prophecies which has proved to be from God”.
Okechukwu alleged that the transfer was influenced by outside forces.
The South-East APC spokesman expressed concerns over Mbaka’s safety, adding that his followers may find it difficult to get to Emene for programmes of the Adoration Ministry.
He said, “Whereas we accept that the transfer of priests is a routine exercise of the great Catholic Church, however we do not wholly accept a situation where the church allows external forces to influence transfer as the Mbaka’s case suggests.
“Otherwise, future liberation clergy who speak truth to power will be hamstrung to the detriment of the society.
“Our major concern is the security implications and the fate of his flocks who are mostly the downtrodden who may find it difficult to go to Emene for salvation and healing.
“We frown at anything which will put Fr. Mbaka in harms way or deny his flocks healing.”
The APC condemns all attacks on Mbaka, Okuchukwu said, noting that the party was in solidarity with the fiery priest.
Okechukwu further noted that Mbaka had been under stringent attack from Buhari’s opponents since he prophesied that Buhari would win the presidential election.
He accused the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo of playing a role in Mbaka’s travails.
“As a party we have watched with concern and trepidation the criticism, the attack, assault and unpleasant comments hurled against Fr. Mbaka since he providentially prophesied that President Buhari would win the 2015 elections.
“Even the Church did not spare him – he was called unprintable names, yet his prophecy came true.
“We are happy that Fr. Mbaka was vindicated.
“It must be pointed out that accusing fingers were pointed at the direction of some anti-Buhari elements like Ohanaeze Ndigbo, a group that didn’t want to hear the name of Buhari – even though Ohanaeze denied the allegation, doubts still persists.
“For we are still at a loss why a senior priest will be degraded to an assistant parish priest.
“We repeat that we are in solidarity with Fr. Mbaka and our major concern is the security of Fr. Mbaka and the suffering of his flocks mostly the poor who need his healing powers.
“We had thought that His Lordship Bishop Calistus Onaga could have retained him at the Adoration Ground, as the Bishop Emeritus Gbuji did because of security of his life and easy access by his flocks,” the APC chieftain added.
It was learnt that thousands of Mbaka’s followers wept uncontrollably as they escorted him and about 30 lorry-loads of his belongings to the new parish. Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday

ReplyDeleteYou 're a fool at fourty and you will remain a foul forever
DeleteAboki, What do you know about Christianity? They will soon send him to your village near sambisa. That is how it works. So, leave Catholic matter for them.
DeleteIdiot who appointed you in the first place.. What's your business with Christianity...?
DeleteTurakin,please don't make laugh....what concerns a political party with the transfer of a parish priest....heeee....I can't shout....ndi mmadu sef....
Deletehmmmmm, journalist! what do u knw about catholic n priest postings. as for the so called APC, why don't u ask well before bringing in our political statements. for our info, Mbaka was not posted or made an assistant parish priest. find out b4 u open ur mandibles. stay out of religious matters its not ur case.
ReplyDeleteAboki, are you sure you really know God? God sees and judges differently. Catholic priests are not suppose to be partisan. And it's the prerogative of the bishop to post priests wherever he wishes.
ReplyDeleteIt's well. Mbaka should stop crying. God's is not man. He'll vindicate you if you've been doing His biddings, otherwise the traps of men will catch you. You shouldn't forget so easily that scripture that says, 'if God be for you, ( not APC or any god- father), no man can be against you. Sellah!
ReplyDeleteMaybe he should be posted to apc parish as he has become an apc priest.
ReplyDeletereal men of God thank God at any circumstances.
ReplyDeleteJust when does routine posting within a religious circle become the concern of a political party??? Honestly, this APC is becoming the worst thing ever happen to this country. Fuel scarcity lingers, exchange rate becoming worse, inflation and unemployment rate growing higher, on and on couple with insecurity... All these are not the concern of APC. Well, as events are unfolding...
ReplyDeleteCatholic priest are routinely posted. There is no priest who stays in one parish forever, it never happens. The APC and indeed everyone should keep of the catholic business. Such policies have seen the catholic church attain the height it has gotten to today.
ReplyDeleteThis is serious! Where in the history of the catholic church in Nigeria has a priest remained in one parish for more than 20yrs? In our Kaduna archdiocese, priests are transferred to new parishes every 3 or 4yrs. So APC, why the noise? Is fr. Mbaka complaining? Haba Dai Yan siyasa?
ReplyDeleteHà hahahahaha! When has worldly institution got the right to be giving directive to a spiritual institution or Body of Christ- The Church on mathers of The Church because of Mbà ka. Haba! So this is the level Mr Fr Mbaka has degenerated . It is a shame.pride, disobedience, arrogance, attraction to the vile things of the world and love of power is what is killing this man.Well, after all Lucifer was an angel of God. So Beware! The Church was there before Mbaka and the Church will be there after Mr fr Mbaka. Ci kena!
ReplyDeleteI do not blame APC, I blame the Rev. father that made his case a political case. As for APC, since their concern is his security, they should pls make him the Aso Rock Chaplain and guarantee his maximum security, alternatively, they should give him Police security in his new parish. Again I reiterate, the Adoration Ministry is at Emene, a stone throe from his new posting. Now tell me, is that not in his interest and the interest of his 'FOLLOWERS' and people desiring healing from him? Tell me also, he said his Aqua Rapha water is healing water so apparently, it means that those who cannot reach him can buy the water and drink for their healing and maybe buy his yoghurt for refreshment. Politics and Religion....
ReplyDeleteMr Mbaka should remember the sins of lucifer. O to!
ReplyDeleteThe little bird (Nza) after having a sumptuous meal decided to Challenge his god (Chi) to a duel It out Knowing that the god was there before him. It was a similar case with lucifer. So Mr Fr Mbaka a child dancing surugede does not Know that surugede is the dance of the dead ( Ghosts). It does not matter your followership or popularity
ReplyDeleteAgu, well said there. There were people like him before. Remember Adasu, the former Governor of Benue state. How did he end?
