Rivers names stadium, road after Gowon

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has renamed Liberation Stadium and the Old Aba Road after General Yakubu Gowon.
In a statement, Mr Simeon Nwakaudu, Special Assistant to the governor on Electronic Media, said the Liberation Stadium in Port Harcourt, “Is now to be known as Yakubu Gowon Stadium. The Old Aba Road is also to be known as Yakubu Gowon Road.”
