Northern youth under the aegis of the Arewa Triumphant Youth Foundation, have begged the Indigenous People of Biafra and members of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra to lay down their arms and embrace dialogue for peace to reign in the land.
They said they would not be happy to see the South- Eastern part of the country break away from Nigeria.
ATYF’s National President, Ibrahim Yusuf, spoke at a press conference on Friday to herald activities lined up for a proposed Arewa Youth Leadership Summit scheduled for this month in Kaduna.
Yusuf said it was regrettable that major actors in Biafra violence, Boko Haram insurgency, kidnapping and Fulani herdsmen crisis across the country were youth of present generation.
According to him, there is no point for our eastern brothers and sisters to be agitating to pull out of Nigeria regardless of ethnic and religious inclinations.
“We are brothers. We should be able to live together as one big family. Nothing should separate us. MASSOB should lay down their arms, and allow us to stay together for the betterment of this great country.
“There is no doubt that 99 per cent of these people that are into these various crises are young persons, and this is because they are jobless, and to stop them from being violent, government at all levels must provide jobs and the enabling environment for the youth.
“President Buhari should fulfill his promise paying N5,000 to unemployed persons in the country, even though I don’t support the idea of sharing money because it may cause crisis, and make people lazy.
“I will rather support government giving the people nets to catch fish than giving them fish to eat, and rebuild the country of one nation, one vision and one goal.
“Government should realise that as one Nigeria, until it brings everybody together, the country will continue to have crisis.” Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday

ROTFLMAO.....kwa kwa kwa kwa kwa kwa
ReplyDeleteDid this retard just group Biafra agitators alongside Boko Haram? To say Biafra agitators are violent means you must have been high on cow piss. What arms does this retard see on the agitators that he is asking them to lay down? Ode! He thinks every other region is like his people that communicate with innocent victims blood. Sorry but the south is so much more civilised.and we pray you leave nigeria and form your own country and butcher yourselves to your heart's satisfaction. Stay in your dark ages but don't keep parasiting us in the south. Pak well jor
ReplyDeleteThank you ATYF youth leader, but where did you see the arms in this agitations? Let it be on record that the Biafra agitators know better than to engage in arms struggling for the actualization of their goals. They would not allow the Nigerian Authority or anybody to labelled them violent. We already know the propaganda at play but will not allow ourselves to be defeated with its use. It is therefore, regrettable to list Biafra agitators alongside a clandestine and unholy boko-haram to drive home your point. LET IT BE KNOWN TO ALL AND SUNDRY THAT THE BIAFRA STRUGGLES ARE NOT VIOLENT AND NON-VIOLENCE BUT THE USE OF CONSISTENT AND PERSISTENT DIALOGUES TO DRIVE HOME THEIR DEMANDS. God willing, the end will justify the means.
ReplyDeletewhere did you see the Arms!? or may be you were referring to another group, Like BOKO RAMS.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you mean by non-violent when you killed two police officers, burned Mosque, burned Dangote cement trailer and blocked the end of Niger bridge.
ReplyDeleteOlodo check your facts before you talk.
DeleteNnamdi should be release first, they should arrest boko haram sponsors in the north
