Nigeria under Buhari is becoming a shame - Fayose

Mr Ayodele Fayose has raised the alarm that Nigeria under President Buhari was fast becoming a shame, describing the failed attempt by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to manipulate the Bayelsa State governorship election as clear invitation to anarchy.

The governor, who said it was shameful that the two elections conducted by INEC under Buhari’s kinsman, Prof Mahmood Yakubu were inconclusive, called on all well-meaning Nigerians and the international community to rise up in condemnation of the APC government’s plot to destroy democracy in the country.

Speaking through his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, Governor Fayose who said everything under Buhari was becoming inconclusive, added that; “If in three days, INEC could not conduct credible election in Bayelsa State of just eight local governments, one wonders what will happen during the general elections in 2019.

The simple reality is that INEC under this Buhari’s kinsman, Prof Yakubu, who is fast becoming the classical example of incompetence cannot guarantee free and fair elections in this country.” He saluted the courage of the people of Bayelsa State, describing them as “worthy heroes of democracy that stood their ground against agents of darkness that were prepared to short-change them by imposing a governor they do not want on them.”

Governor Fayose also congratulated the Bayelsa State Governor and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Seriake Dickson for having the people of Bayelsa behind him, adding that “the people of Bayelsa have shown that their power is more than that of the Abuja political oppressors.”

He urged the governor and Bayelsa people not to lose their guard, saying; “Now that they have failed in their bid to use one local government to rig themselves to power, they will surely go back to their evil drawing board to plan fresh assaults.

“Therefore, Bayelsa people must henceforth sleep with their two eyes opened because the APC thieves come not only to steal, but to kill and that can be seen in the way and manner they murdered over 20 people just because they wanted power at all cost.”

While warning on the consequences of destruction of the legacy of free, fair and credible electoral process bequeathed on Nigeria by Dr Goodluck Jonathan, Governor Fayose said; “Nigerians, especially we in Ekiti State are already taking a cue from the Kogi and Bayelsa States experience and are getting prepared for future elections.”

    3. Yes Prince Nwoye I support you GEJ is far better than Buhari. The fight against corruption is one sided. Fashiola and Ameachi are sacred cows that cannot be touched

  2. This moron of a governor should keep shut forever, does he think we are still in the era of impunity of the PDP?,what is happening in our political life under the buhari administration should be applauded by all well meaning Nigerians,it shows that the rule of law is at work,INEC followed the law to declared the kogi and bayelsa elections inconclusive,in the era of PDP we hardly have inconclusive election as they hurriedly declare winners without recourse to the electoral law.

    1. Is querying blindly a good argument? Fayose always speak like an illiterate without even commonsense. 'Wisdom' is good but Fayose has no wisdom. He talks without thinking.

No Ekiti voter will support another Fayose for Governor.

  4. So, inconclusive has become a hallmark of good elections? So, 3 consecutive months of fuel scarcity should be applauded. The increase in rate of unemployment, and inflation together with #240 to $1 should be applauded. One wonders what happens to your sense of judgement.Well, as events are unfolding, we are watching.

    2. What about your 16 yrs of wondering in the wilderness by your so-called PDP? Just few months you are seeking for how to blame the APC all the way

    3. And why not stick to the topic? Did he deviate from the topic as you have done? What exactly do Fayose and people like you want? When APC is declared winner in elections, it is manipulated by Buhari/rigged by APC. When PDP is declared winner, it is the vigilance and resistance of the voters that prevent Buhari/ APC from having their ways. When PDP lost in court on A.Ibom and Rivers election, it was Buhari and APC's desperation to control oil rich states. When PDP lost in Taraba, it was Buhari's impunity. When PDP's victory in Delta was sustained by the court, it was bcos APC did not come 2nd in the election (not seeing that going by your assumptions that APC is manipulating the court, the election could have been outrightly cancelled to give APC the opportunity to win in a manipulated fresh election).I won't comment in details on the other issues bcos they are not the topics of discussion. But simply I will say that it is unreasonable to blame on someone that has ruled for seven months the results of the misrule and lost opportunities of another party that has ruled for 16 years. Buhari did not take over an el dorado from GEJ and sometimes when a disease is disguised as a symptom, the process of curing the disease may reveal worse symptom and there are ways a diabolical doctor can deceive the patient rather than let the full symptom be revealed. A sincere doctor would not do that.

  9. Fayose is now a custodian of wisdom and a preacher of good governance, this is a very funny country....PDP lost in Kogi Election they complaint, they are leading in Bayelsa Election, they complaint, so good to be in the other side of the coin... you can never eat your cake and have it, Nigeria can never be like it used to be during your 16 years of looting, our children must grow up into a society where things work naturally, not where thinks are crooked into motion overnight, we understand what happened before this government came into power and we are prepared to be patient with it. 16 years of rot can never be clean in a few months, we have a lot of hope in this government and they are signs of progression, we cannot be cowed by the sentiment of crooks to go back to the evil we were coming from this country must surly succeed. Most of the PDP stalwart went to school on scholarships today most of them own private universities strangling the government institution with their looting so they can run their schools, the railways was a major hoop in this country what did they do, they strangled it recently went to china to procure 1950's trains ten times more expensive than the cost of getting light Solar modern trains like Ethiopia just did, building infrastructures became a crime, every Nigerian today building a house must first consider a borehole for water because government cannot provide simple pipe born water, housing itself is a luxury when they even build with government and tax payers monies, they sell it to their family members and political associate, why would anyone pay me money to continue to make him relevant politically when he has got all what it takes to make a difference in my life for the past 16 years and he could not, yet I still waste my time to continue making same persons relevant, I will rather go with the new government they might be the real definition of what Nigeria needs to be great again, all what you PDP did in the last 16 years we Nigerians 4give you, but our plea is for you to allow the suffering masses of this country look objectively this new option for succor, we believe this squad is good enough to work the talk

Even INEC issue ought to have been resolved if the ijaw man has foresight. They always lay foundation for failure and blame it on the opposition

  16. All this sentimental commentators cant you open your eyes for once and see that this Government is leading This country to a state of Anarchy. Whether you like it or not Jonathan is presently billed for Nobel peace award with the Geneva convention for the manner and style he ruled this nation. Under this new government Nigerians are highly divided and seperated amongst hate lines I pray this government does not destroy the peace and love our people once shared. Inec please hold free and fair elections don't be partisan anytime APC is having issues there must be chaos must it always be about APC. This people APC have always being filled with threats to the Nigeria people. They said earlier if Jonathan won march elections they would form a parallel government. I hope the President will become father of all and not a vindictive one sided personality.God bless Nigeria

  20. My fellow country people, what is happening to my beloved country is really terrifying. Who to blame and not to be blame has become a subject of the matter. Fuel subsidy we complained about few years ago and what we see now almost seems alike with an increase in pump price. If they should continue to eat our money i tell you Nigeria will never go bankrupt. We have the money and it will still remain till they die and there children will also see the abundance that our country possesses. They should also try to make things easier, i do not say better because we will never expect of it. During GEJ it was disgusting that he never controlled the way people siphon our money, but i tell you he controlled the economy and Nigeria became the fastest growing economy during his time, He silenced the BH saga and promise to eradicate it before the election which i think he tried to do, to an extent i began to imagine if the Boko Haram is still existing. Buhari has promised December to silence this terrorist group and it is quite pity he has come out to tell us that the given date can as well be shiften in the chase of the Boko horom and day after day we heard that they have bomb so so city, town, villages and states what a mess. We all know all this. The oil pump price was controlled firstly in GEJ administration 2010/2011, we traveled during the festive season and there were no much queue in the filling station waiting to buy fuel for longer hours. Which OBJ never did, as he constantly increases the pump price. No government is good and no govt is good and we should never expect a better Govt. The love of money is always the root of evil. Since Buhari has turn to control the petroleum sector as he became its minister, it is really telling on us. Inflation and depreciation in dollars exchange. Let there be availability of petroleum and they should go ahead with looting of funds we don't care. Only God has been helping us as we have remain and will remain alive to live up to our expectations. GOD BLESS NAIJA

  21. Ayo is the wisiestone. He is putting defence before attack. He knows his hands are not clean. When anti laundering agencies picks him up now, he will start saying its bcos of his truth. Then I ask which truth? For 16 yrs you never see any wrong doing of your party but its now you know the truth. Is he speaking for party or for the common masses? Enough is enough for the wise.
