Fuel Scarcity: DPR seals 97 stations in Lagos, Ogun

About 99 filling stations in Lagos and Ogun states have been sealed for various market infractions and sanctioned accordingly for taking advantage of the current fuel supply shortages.
Industry regulator, the Department of Petroleum Resources, DPR, in a statement weekend, in Lagos, said the retail outlets violated various regulations and indicated the sanctions imposed on them, including:
Selling above government stipulated prices – N100K/ per pump;
Under-dispensing of products – N100K/pump;
Operating without licence – seal/shut down;
Diversion of products – N200/litre, and;
Hoarding – dispence to the public at no cost
The surprise of the list is not so much in the number of those affected but more in the fact that quite a number of the major marketers’ branded outlets were caught violating DPR market regulations as shown below:
Lagos area include:
NNPC Retail, Lag/Abeokuta Exp. Way, Alakuko – diverted 45,000 litres of petrol from NNPC Depot Ejigbo on 9/11/15, penalised with N200/L and suspended from lifting from depot
Mobil, Idimu/Ikotun Road, Ikotun – petrol under-dispensing
Mobil, Akute – petrol under-dispensing
Mobil, Isawo Road, Ikorodu – selling petrol in jerry cans at N100/L, collecting tolls of N100 per motorists/cyclists to sell at N87/L
Mobil, Airport Road, Ikeja – petrol under-dispensing
Conoil, Airport Road Ikeja – petrol under-dispensing
Conoil, Opp. Hajj Camp Airport Rd Ikeja – petrol under-dispensing
Conoil MM2 Local Airport Road Ikeja – petrol under-dispensing
MRS, Jakande Road, Ijegun Alimosho – selling petrol & kerosene at N110/L, operating with DPR licence
Total, Lagos/Ibadan Expressway, Old toll gate, Alausa – under-dispensing, and hoarding petrol
Forte Oil, Ewuelere Ikorodu – selling kerosene at N110/L
The rest of the defaulters were independent outlets, who are mostly known for such malpractices:
Gods Decision, Abaranje/Ikotun Road, Alimosho – selling petrol at N100/litre
Lado Oil, Ejigbo/Ikotun Rroad, Egbe – petrol under dispensing
Ladiji, Ejigbo/Ikotun Road, Egbe – selling kerosene at N100/L
Carol & Asma’u Oil, Lagos/Badagry Exp. Way – diesel under-dispensing, no lience, removal of DPR seal
Olaoluwanishola, Igbogbo, Bayeku Road, Ikorodu – selling kerosene at N130/L
Be Happy, Ijede Road, Itamaga Ikorodu – petrol under-dispensing
MUKKY, 50, Ikotun/Ijegun Road, Alimosho – selling petrol at N100/L, kerosene at N105/L
Ogun State
There were more incidences of products diversion in the Ogun area than in Lagos as shown below:
Adeyanju, Sango-Ota – diverted 33,000 liters of petrol from PPMC Mosimi on 18/11/15
Mofab, Sango/Ijoko Road, Sango Ota, Ado Odo/Ota – diverted 33,000 litres of petrol from PPMC Mosimi on 18/11/15
Ademayor Eyenla J4 – diverted 33,000 litres of petrol from PPMC Mosimi on 18/11/15
Johntomme, Ipokia – diverted 33,000 litres of petrol from PPMC Mosimi on 18/11/15
Hope Okerinja – diverted 33,000 litres of petrol from PPMC Mosimi on 18/11/15
All of the above stations were surcharged with N200/L and suspended from lifting from depot. Other offenders include:
MRS Agbado Ijoko Road – hoarding and under-dispensing petrol
MRS Km 4, Itamope Ijebu Ode Road – hoarding and selling kerosene at N100/L
Unicorn Oil, Alagbado Ota/Ifo – selling kerosene at N100/L
JF Investment Orudu Adeyan Agbado Road – selling petrol at N100/L

DPR should extend this initiative to Benin city because the filling stations have become notorious in overcharging. Imagine paying N130 per litre of fuel.
