President Barack Obama and Republican presidential hopeful Sen. Ted Cruz are currently in a war of words over suggestions by the former to admit christian Syrian refugees, while the door would shut to Muslim Syrian refugees.
Obama said during a news conference on Monday at the G20 summit, saying it was "shameful" to suggest a "religious test" for refugees from the Middle East.
Obama didn't mention Cruz by name, but his remarks came after the GOPer said Muslim refugees from Syria should be barred from coming to the United States but that Christians should be admitted.
“When I hear folks say that well maybe we should just admit the Christians but not the Muslims, when I hear political leaders suggesting that there would be a religious test for which a person who is fleeing from a war-torn country is admitted, when some of those folks themselves come from families who benefited from protection when they were fleeing political persecution, that’s shameful,” Obama said. “That’s not American. That’s not who we are.”

Ted Cruz hits back at Obama: 'Come Back And Insult Me To My Face'
Sen. Ted Cruz responded to Obama's criticism of Republicans suggesting there be a religious test for Syrian refugees seeking entrance to the country, a plan he called "shameful" and "not American" while in Turkey for the Group of 20 summit.
"If you want to insult me, you can do it overseas, you can do it in Turkey, you can do it in foreign countries. But I would encourage you, Mr. President, come back and insult me to my face," Cruz said, staring directly into the camera.
Cruz got even more schoolyard, challenging the President to a debate any place, any time.
"Let's have a debate on Syrian refugees, right now. We can do it anywhere you want. I would prefer it in the United States and not overseas," the Republican presidential candidate said. "We'll do it on any station."
Cruz also called Obama's remarks "utterly unfitting of a President."

Cruz, u can't be an USA leader by religion bigot
ReplyDeleteU want him to admit boko haram who will go there and begin to slaughter people like barbarians?
ReplyDeleteGod bless Obama for his objectivity. The world belongs to all not few. There's a clear difference between religion and extremism and this shouldn't be a yardstick for measuring our compassion to fellow human being irrespective of their faith. If Ted Cruz is a good Christian, why not borrow a leaf from the story of " the good Samaritan " who showed compassion and love to a dying stranger irrespective of his faith or belief.Once again, I pray God bless Obama for reminding us about the good Samaritan.
ReplyDeleteMumu idiot like you. From the way you sound I will not be surprised if you are a haramite .!
DeleteI SORRY FOR AMERICA.
