The All Progressives Congress has assured Nigerians that it will not renege on its campaign promise to pay 5,000 Naira each monthly to 25 million most vulnerable Nigerians, while calling on the citizens to ignore the mischievous attempt by the PDP to confuse and mislead them on this issue.
In a statement issued in Abuja on Friday by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party said even though the PDP-led Federal Government plundered the common wealth in its time, it (APC) has devised creative means not only to pay the money but also to fulfill its other campaign promises to Nigerians.
It said the non-implementation of the payment policy so far is due to the fact that it was not included in the 2015 budget, which was prepared by the PDP-led Jonathan Administration, and also because of the need to first block all financial leakages.
”Now, the Buhari administration has been busy putting into place measures that will make it possible to start the implementation of this project. Such measures include the introduction
of the Treasury Single Account (TSA).
”We are happy to inform Nigerians that as of the end of September 2015, over 1.4 trillion Naira – which hitherto was lying unproductively in various commercial banks – has been recovered
and paid into the TSA,” APC said.
The party said that in its usual jumpy and superficial approach to issues, the PDP has already rushed to judgement on the issue without bothering to hear from the APC, which made the promise in the first instance. Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday

This APC shouldn't make me laugh. I wonder where their financial literacy have gone to. Even in their campaign promises, didn't they know that giving N5 000 to each jpbless Nigerian will sort of create more inflation to our economy. I encourage every youth to forget about campaign promises and go for enterpreneurship that will atleast create jobs for them. I'm an Enterpreneur in my own way and i pray someday God will uplift me higher than anticipated.
ReplyDeleteThis government is trying to confuse everyone on the true use of TSA account. In total, that account isn't for charity. Jobless youths not disabled. What is wrong with their hands. I believe this government should use that money and improve our agricultural section. Let these 'jobless youth' work as farmers and earn their pay. Giving 5000 free to 25mill people that's 125mill naira dash. So baboo dey work, monkey dey chop. They should reconsider and restrategise this idea.
Deletelying as usual. Kontinu.
ReplyDeleteNumber one lier in the whole world, shameless old man that drinks lies like water....You are still not tired of lying ???
ReplyDeleteI wonder Y the PDP are the once fighting to implement the APC manifesto in the upper house in a budget their ousted leader did not make provision for, na wao! politics....... opposition dey pain sha!
ReplyDeleteTruly, the 2015 budget did not make provision for the N5000. Should they wait till 2016 before planning for it. 2016 is less than 2 months to go. Do you know how long the bill will take between the two houses. Some bills can last 4 years. It is evident that APC which is not different from PDP will not come true on their campaign promises
DeleteWe know them (PDP), ara won o bale to. Always jumping and doing gra gra. If they so loved the Nigerian youth why didn't they pay us N5000 when their shoeless and almost brainless zoologist was in power. Instead one idiotic Senator wants to mislead Nigerian youths, I didn't mention Ben Bruce.
ReplyDeleteTalk with decorum please....your father might not get to dat position...so show some respect...
DeleteGood point APC. It wasnt in the budget and should have not been brought up in the house yet. The PDP is just trying to frustrate APC with this. It is clearly too early to bring it up. Its just like asking a pregnant woman to deliver in the 6th month. Guys please always remember that APC has 4years to deliver their promises. Let us watch, wait patiently and hold them accountable in the end. Obas
ReplyDeleteWow..I guess u r now preaching patience....I thought d miracles will start happening immediately....
DeleteThis is another way politicians will embezzle more money. This money can be enough to even bring back alive some of the moribund federal government companies that can absorb some skilled youths. 5k monthly is just funny.
ReplyDeleteLying, lying always. Liar!
ReplyDeleteWho are the true jobless youths?
ReplyDeleteJobless youths are not students in full-time education.
Jobless youths are those who are available and ready for work but have no job. They are jobseekers.
Since this promise was made by APC, they should dig it out of their pockets to hand out to these individuals. This promise was not made by the nation and should not be captured in the budget. By the way, who gets this N5,000 per month, the ones in the villages who may not have bank accounts or the ones who do. This is a nonsensical promise, a promise that cannot be fulfilled. Even the wealthiest nations in the world do not make this sort of promise, let alone a wretched third world country. Do we even have any brains? Anybody who has a brain ought o know that this is not workable. I support what Buhari is doing overall, but this initiative is stupid, very stupid.
ReplyDeleteLie again!. Your new position is an after thought. Even if it is not in 2015 budget and you are passionate about your electoral promise, have you never heard of supplementary budget?
ReplyDeleteI don't mean to digress from the issue. But I just wanted to mention that, Nigeria youth should direct their energy in making electoral system stronger and rig proved..so that we can always kick out any government that did not fulfilled her promises after 4 years. With this we don't need to remind any government of their campaign promise. .
ReplyDeleteYou are right on point fellow!
DeleteAPC, start by issuing authentic ID Cards to Nigerians of Nigerian origin first, not Chadians, Beninois, Togolese, Nigerrienes, before embarking on this wild money-guzzling project!
ReplyDeleteI think APC should just forget about the idea of doling out cash to us. Real money is value and not just the paper, if govt is giving paper without corresponding value from the youths then we would only trigger inflation. I'd rather have govt provide enabling business environment and supported with financial facilities to aid budding entrepreneurs than just throwing bad money everywhere.
