Nigerians react to Diezani's newly released 'Cancer' picture

Several Nigerians have taken to social media to react of a new photograph 'confirming' that Nigeria’s immediate past Minister of Petroleum, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke is indeed battling cancer is currently trending on social media and eliciting sympathies from even her critics.

The controversial Alison-Madueke has not returned to Nigeria after she jetted out in the same aircraft with President Muhammadu Buhari just weeks after the latter won the 2015 presidential election.

She is said to be currently battling cancer.

The former Minister is also finding it hard convincing Nigerians that she is actually innocent of the allegation that she stole about $20 billion dollars as minister in the Ministry of Petroleum, where some of the highest levels of corruption allegedly took place in the last government.

The photograph, first published by owner of Ovation Magazine, Dele Momodu, shows former stunning Mrs. Alison-Madueke, looking old with wrinkled skin and hair loss, supposedly from undergoing chemotherapy.

Since the photographs emerged, Nigerians have reacted, especially on Twitter where some believe it is a lesson that life is vanity.

@ChatWithWilson, one of those who reacted on Twitter, said: “seeing the recent pics of Diezani Alison-Madueke is humanly quite saddening. But there are lessons to learn from it all.”

Emy Mabs, who tweets at @EmmyMabs, was spiritual in his sympathy. “She needs our prayer…See Diezani Alison-Madueke’s current look,” he said just as @DamilareAgoro said: ” (I) can’t believe this’s Diezani! I still feel for her even if truly she stole Nigeria’s money.”

Another respondent, @Tbabz, said: “Diezani has cancer indeed. She wasn’t lying at all while OlisaOsega expressed disbelief saying: “God! I can’t believe what I’m seeing. Is this Diezani?”
Reacting, a respondent with the handle: @blessberrie, said she was in tears looking at the photograph while @queen_nickki said: “Diezani is actually dying. OMG!”

Tweeting through @Harieson, a respondent said: “asides the paris attacks, I got freaked out by that picture of Diezani Madueke. I’m all curled up right now, struggling to believe she’s the one.”
Adeola Fayehun prayed: “may God grant her quick recovery!”

SirJeffry expressed shock. “Nnaa mehn, this cancer na devil oo. See as it has transformed the once pretty Diezani to a grandma. God abeg oo, heal and restore her to normalcy.”

In a reaction, @InnaRooney said: “I don’t think I will celebrate Diezani’s sickness because I know not how I will end up. If you can’t wish her well don’t pray for her worse.”

In his reaction, @forakin said: “for all her misdeeds, in the face of personal struggles, this is no time to gawp over pictures of the stricken, we are all vulnerable.

But @linusNoni sees the recent photograph as propaganda. He said: “propaganda setting in. Diezani’s pictures to soon be on net; she looks weak. Wish her speedy recovery but that not should stop any investigation.”

@tosinadeda said: “unfortunately stolen funds can’t save anybody!”

Reacting to the photographs, Uncle Mide, with Twitter handle: @babydot4u, said: “seriously, Diezani Alison-Madueke??!!!! Is this how you want to play the game??? Nigerians are watching…I don’t trust politicians.”

One of the responders also said: “in all we do friends, don’t forget; life isn’t about how much we amassed, but how much lives we touched. She didn’t help anyone, even church members at a point all cut her off in their minds!”

For one of the responders who simply calls himself Elslim, Nigerians must not be fooled. He believes the photograph is the result of make-over.

What are your thoughts, do you believe she truly has cancer? or it is just another plot to deceive Nigerians? kindly tell us..

  2. Scam! Photoshop at work... She may have cancer quite okay but this is not how she looks right now. I personally don't believe it (Its my opinion though). This days computer can do anything. I believe they are trying to attract sympathy and distract attention from her mis-deeds. On the other hand, if per chance it is true that she is in this condition, I don't wish her bad. I pray she recovers soonest. The ultimate lesson I've learnt from this is that life is vanity upon vanity!!! Your riches can never buy you health. Hence a 'healthy' poor fellow is literary richer than a 'sick' super rich DON/VIP. Only few people appreciate the value of health though. Alhamdulillah.

    2. I don't know how to quantify ur level of ignorance bro! It's deep! Soooo deep!! Firstly, I said it's my opinion, and I think I'm entitled to it. Secondly, I can't see anywhere in my write up where I assessed that BH boys are good. Thirdly, no where did I mention or wish Diezani dead! Bro u are lucky I don't know you, otherwise I'll sue you and get some cash on ur head idiot! If I do that, I'm very sure next time you will read people's comment carefully before making useless and blasphemous replies. I think u should go back to school sha. It would help a lot.

  6. I wish her quick recovery if actually she is the one in this picture. On the other hand I still have a doubt judging from the shape of the two nose on the two pictures. Check out the two nose.

  7. This looks like a computer-doctored image. Even if it is a real image, she is still healthy enough to direct us as to where to find the tons of money that she stole from the country.

  8. Let the government send private detectives to UK to do on the spot physical assessment. This days of technology fooling people coud be very easy. At least let her say where the stolen money is.

  9. That picture is not that of Diezani Alison Madueke. It could pass for that of her mother but still it is not. Nothing is truly wrong with that thief and even if she is sick, her death will not assuage the thirst of Nigerians in seeing their looted funds being returned and Diezani jailed. It must be pointed out that even at death Nigerians will like a judge pass sentence unto the dead of Diezani. We have gone pass this stage of photoshop to attract sympathy. Diezani will pay for her crimes. Please, ponder if Jonathan had won would Diezani be having cancer?

    1. If you've ever stolen in your life, then all you wish her will come to pass in your life, you will also bear all she is passing through today.

  10. No body is guilty until been proven guilty by the court of law. So I don't see who makes u all judge over this woman when she is never proven guilty. So shot those traps.

  11. I'm not surprise on her news. Money is spiritual. The more it comes the more one creates channels in which it can flow to help humanity. This cancer will heal fast if Diezani will create a genuine charity organisation, re invest most of her deposited cash into full time human charity works. Cancer will disappear.

  12. Photo shop, but am sure the person that did it for her can still do better than this so people won't suspect fowl play. And if really, she is sick if u like die, they will still collect all the stolen wealth from ur criminal family. Old Bitch like u. Throughout Jonathan administration, why didn't she came out and say that. Or better still, as a minister join the campaign against cancer. We have notable peolple like Angelina Jolie who didn't hide her story.

But for putting that pix as her current state of health, she is an old lying Bitch. I have it from reliable sources. If u need her actual pix as of early this month. I can send it to you.

    1. God bless you anon 8:39. The way some Nigerians react... smh. Babangida, Obasanjo et al are all there and parading as saints (living freely). Some are even taken back into the system as 'corruption' fighters. For me, if you truly are true in your 'anti-corruption' course, then there's no need to filter who or what to fight. Probe all. As for Diezani, I wish her God's mercy and healing and if truly the allegation are totally or even partially true, my prayer for her is that she learns that there's more to life than money. Jesus still loves her more than she can ever imagine. All it takes is to surrender to Him. God bless Nigeria!

  15. I don't care if she has cancer or not, even HIV will be better she is among those that ruined Nigeria... she should give us our money.. I still believe this is all photoshop but if not we still need our money. I have no single sympathy for her as millions of people are suffering in Nigeria.
She has to stand trial and give us our money

  16. God does not want the death of a sinner. Even at that, we are all sinners. She is somebody's wife or mother. Somebody is missing her greatly. Her life is more precious than anything. We should try to empathize. May God grant her a miraculous recovery.

  17. I don't give a hoot if she's someone's wife or mother. Thousands of Nigerians have died and are still dying because of crooks like her
She was never this sick when the useless Jonathan was in power but the moment there is a shift in power she was straight in UK crying cancer. She can bloody go to hell we need to stop all these looting in Nigeria. She should go back to Nigeria and stand trial on her hospital bed
This how these looters deceive Nigerians, she took a picture be it photoshop or not trying to seek pity from Nigerians what about thousands that are hungry and dying. I have no one single pity for her

  18. i felt so sory for Diezani even though there are allegations of misappropriation of funds during her tenure, it is not easy to die in this kind of condition. vanity upon vanity all is vanity says the preacher. if it is true that she stole 20 billion dollars allegedly though, and there are millions of Nigerians who could have benefitted from a 20 billion dollar investment in terms of job creation in Nigeria, then all these corrupt Nigerians are sick with internal inadequacy (disorder).
