Former president, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan and the Peoples Democratic Party were not mentally prepared for the defeat they suffered during the April general elections, President Muhammadu Buhari has said.
Buhari said this in Abuja on Monday in a keynote address titled the Challenges of Transition in Nigeria and the Imperatives for a New Framework at an event on Strengthening Nigeria’s Transition Framework for Democratic Consolidation organised by the National Democratic Institute.
The president who was represented at the event by the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said as a result of lack of mental preparedness, the government of Jonathan could not put the structures necessary for transition in place and this nearly led to a national crisis.
At the event, Minister of Youths and Sports, Mr. Solomon Lalung, said the transition committee set up by Buhari was offered only N20m which was turned down because it was inadequate to take care of its expenses.
Buhari said, “Our experience in the last transition process was unique despite the fact that we have held many general elections and transitioned from one government to another. Indeed, the last election heralded the first real transition in the history of our nation, being the first time that an opposition party will sweep the ruling party out of power. When you are dead, you don't know that you are dead. It is difficult only for the others. It's same thing as when you are stupid! Thanks to my people here defending me from stupid people. Instead of you idiots to drop ur stupid opinions, u choose to insult those that dropped theirs quietly. Stupid Mofos. Once again, thanks to my pipos! I hail!
ReplyDeleteYes oh! The same you were not ready for winning.
ReplyDeleteMr President . Focus on keeping Nigeria one rather than talking as if you are about to have another election with Jonathan.sorry to say oh Mr President Your actions are actually becoming like that of a 10 year-old boy who beat his mate in a fight and wont stop singing his own praise in class of how he beat his mate and how he will do it again if give another opportunity. Mr President your focus now should be on keeping Nigeria one. There are agitations everywhere. The economy is biting hard. There is hardly cash in our hands.Your policies are affecting foreign investments. Business has gone sour for many because no one really understands your mode of operations except the few who keep claiming you are working probably because you have some juicy gifts for them.pls make Nigeria functional again. No matter what you say about Jonathan. Things where never this bad in his reign. God bless and keep Nigeria
