RIVERS State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, has told the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the 2015 governorship election, Dr. Dakuku Peterside, not to delude himself on the possibility of a rerun of the poll in the state.
Wike, who said Peterside embarked on an illegal campaign on Saturday, explained that the APC leader’s action could heat up the polity.
The governor, who spoke on Tuesday through his Media Assistant, Mr. Simeon Nwakaudu, disclosed that his lawyers were concluding the appeal process to challenge the ruling of the Justice Suleiman Ambrosa-led Rivers State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal.
He noted that the ruling, which was premised on card reader accreditation and hearsay testimonies, had already been expunged from the tribunal’s records by the Court of Appeal.
“The defeated Rivers State APC governorship candidate, Mr. Dakuku Peterside, should desist from self-deceit and unnecessary political campaigns as there will be no re-run of the governorship election in Rivers State.
“We understand the desperation of Mr. Peterside as he is merely dancing to the tunes being played by external forces who want their filthy hands on the resources of Rivers State like they did under the failed administration of Rotimi Amaechi.
“The people of Rivers State voted overwhelmingly for Governor Wike on April 11 and 12. The earlier Mr. Peterside comes to terms with this fact, the better for him and his political party.
“The use of falsehood and propaganda will not take Peterside anywhere near the Government House, Port Harcourt. Governor Wike has the mandate of the people of Rivers State and this will be reaffirmed in the appeal process.”
Reacting, the state Publicity Secretary of the APC, Mr. Chris Finebone, said Wike should stop playing God, adding that the governor should allow the Appeal Court to do its work.
Finebone explained that Wike had been boasting that he (Wike) would win the governorship election even if it was held a hundred times, adding that the governor appears to be afraid of a rerun.
“If he (Wike) says that Dr. Peterside is deluding himself on the possibility of any rerun, it shows that Wike is unstable because it is Wike that said that he would win the governorship election even if it were conducted 100 times.” Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday

When APC and Finebone spoke in several press releases, as the owner of the Country, they did not play God, it is now that Wike is speaking with the full backing of law that Finebone is describing him as playing GOD? ehm. different stroke. The table is turning around and we wait!!!!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you. Those people are full of falsehood and lies (to them what is good for the goose should never be good for the gander) and God will not allow them to lay their filthy hands on the resources of RS anymore. The money they stole from the state to enthrone 'Mr anti-corruption' and 'integrity' through Rotimi Amechi is enough.
DeleteBoth of you are idiots of the highest order. Instead of you to advice wicked Wike to start preparing his mind of how to adjust to prison life you are here vomitting rubbish . The blood of the innocent that you are your master Wicked Wike wasted during the election is crying for justice. Justice must surely take its cause very, very soon. Your fellow murderers are preparing to welcome you guys in prison
DeleteYour contribution, calling people idiots actually shows you are a tout like those you represent. If Wike shed blood, I wonder what Buhari did when he promised to make the nation ungovernable. To anyone with blood in his hands, he will surely pay but never exonerate anyone.
DeleteGod in his Infinite Mercies will not allow Amaechi, Obasanjo wit his crookery invest on de Tressure of River State IMAGINE Buhari changed de Tribunal Chairman 2wks to de judgement Today its only PDP states that Election Tribunal Makes perverted Judgement But APC state ? ReplyDeleteDo you have pvc? Social analyser! Do you even know ph? Let us watch and see. It is not all about analyses on social media but facts on ground.
ReplyDeleteIf the vote is rerunned 100 time Wike will still win because he is more popular in rivers state than his opponent. Let's not waste our time and resources in rerunning election unless the ruling party has a plan to rig the election which may bring crisis
ReplyDeleteI wonder what is wrong here. Tribunal had taken a stand, Nyeson Wike does not agree with that. He said He's going to The Appeal Court. Why don't we allow Wike to go to Appeal Court so that we see what they have for us. As for me, going by the judgement of the tribunal, Rivers State does not have a substantive governor. Let's get this into our heads. Stop wasting
