The most streamed Nigerian artistes on Spotify

Global music streaming platform, Spotify, has announced Nigerian music sensations, Ayra Starr and Tems, as the most streamed Nigerian artistes globally.

Spotify’s Head of Music, Sub- Saharan Africa, Phiona Okumu, announced this in Lagos on Wednesday.

Okumu said that the top 30 artistes who had gained the biggest global numbers were revealed in Spotify’s music global impact list for 2024.

She said that Rauw Alexandro and Ayra Starr’s Santa came top on the list, and Ayra Starr’s Comma emerged second while Tem’s Love Me Jeje, came third.

Luciano and Omah Lay’s Another Vibe came fourth; 21 Savage, Burna Boy and Metro Booming’s Just Like Me clinched the fifth most streamed while Tyla and Tems’s No.1 came sixth.

“Spotify has unveiled its global Impact List in Nigeria, recognising the top 30 tracks from Nigeria with the biggest global impact on Spotify over the first half of 2024.

“The list recognises Nigerian tracks that have had the most listens from outside Nigeria in the first half of 2024, and were released between January 1 and June 30.

“Usher and Pheelz’s Ruin is the seventh Nigerian most streamed across the globe, Reis B and Tempoe’s Pretty Girl came eighth and TitoM, Yuppe, Burna Boy and S.N.E’s Tshwala Bam, clinched the ninth position.

“Ayra Starr and Giveon’s Last Heartbreak Song is the tenth, Victony’s Everything came 11th, Aya Nakamura and Ayra Starr’s Hype emerged 12th most streamed while Tems and J.Cole’s Free Fall, came 13th.

“Nigerian music, especially Afrobeats, has captivated global audiences with its infectious rhythms, compelling storytelling, and innovative sound fusions.

“Its ability to transcend cultural and geographical boundaries is truly remarkable. At Spotify, we are thrilled to witness and support the continued evolution of this vibrant scene,” she said.

Okumu noted that female artistes, particularly Ayra Starr and Tems, were leading the charge with top-ranking hits following their recent album releases.

She said that the list also underscored the prevalence of international collaborations, with eight of the top ten tracks featuring partnerships with global superstars.

According to her, these collaborations range from Pheelz with Usher to Burna Boy with 21 Savage and Metro Boomin, which demonstrates the cross-cultural appeal and growing global impact of Nigerian music.

  3. Those close to Chris Aire admitted and maintained that, apart from not having any business presence in Nigeria prior to this sudden invitation from the Minister of Petroleum resources,it is alarming that he had absolutely no idea how the oil industry works much less lifting, selling crude oil.His company solid21 incorporated's sole business was the buying and selling of jewelries and gem stones,he was a very sucessful dealer and quite known amongst the United States Celebrity circuit hence had no intention of venturing into a business in Nigeria until Mrs Madueke's visit.
According to the sources who revealed the exegesis of all that occured,a day after Mrs Madueke retund back to Nigeria to resume her duties at the Ministry of Petroleum Resources Chris Aire began the process of registering shell companies.
On the 9th of july 2010 (note the dates) he incorporated Siseno Oil Nigeria Ltd,a company whose purpose was listed as Petroleum Product Sales and Distribution, with Chris and a Patience illuobe (of same last name) as a Director.
Precisely 12 days after this incorporation,on the 21st of July 2010 this time in Nigeria through connections in the Corporate Affairs Commission,he incorporated another firm this time called Caligeria Oil Ltd with same mandate of Petroleum Product sales and Distribution,in this company he named one of his Us based business concerns (Osiris holdings) a Ms illuobe and Otaigbe Onyekwere Agba all as joint Directors in this company registered with Corporate Affairs Commission.
As if this was not already weird for a man who prior had no business presence in Nigeria,he then proceeded to incorporate yet another shell company this time  United States subsidiary of the Caligeria Oil Ltd in the US this time with himself,Joseph Agbi (believed to be his body guard),Jivani Davoodian (a California,US based Solicitor) all as Joint Directors.
The curious and puzzling thing with this murky business is the fact that these companies had no single fixed address or a building in the whole of Nigeria, nevertheless the documents were passed to the Crude Oil Marketing Division of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation for approval to lift oil.
In spite of the alarm bells regarding these companies, they were discreetly approved to lift crude oil after a month or therebouts by the Minister of Petroleum Mrs Diezani Madueke,in flagrant disregard of NNPC standing rules.
According to the capital news portal who conducted  this instructive findings, presently as things stand Chris Aire and Mrs Madueke's business dealings is on a wobbly foundation due to present Political realities.
When the going was good,Chris Aire had the best of both worlds as he became the toast and jeweller of choice for the biggest names from the First lady Dame Patience Jonathan to Governors first ladies and all others in between, while making hundreds of millions of dollars with his side business going with Mrs. Madueke.
Two different sources also confirmed independently of course that Chris Aire also popularly known as "The ice man" to many high profile US celebrities like Rihana,Snoop Dogg,Nelly,Jay Z,Ophrah Winfrey amongst many others was a regular and consistent conduit for money laundering of their proceeds abroad using his Jewelry business to move money all over the world.

  6. What if all these allegations against her were not true?
“If you are in the corridor of power, you must expect anything, including mud and even bricks being thrown at you.”
Whatever, Diezani-Alison Madueke, may God grant you miraculous healing.
