Elder statesman, Tanko Yakasai, has cautioned President Muhammadu Buhari to halt selective persecution of perceived political opponents in the name of fighting corruption.
In a statement in Kano yesterday, the octogenarian said that recent action of the administration by some of its leading figures left much to be desired.
Yakasai said: “Recent policy and non-policy actions of the new administration as promoted by some leading figures and the administration’s security and anti-graft agencies, have left much to be desired.”
He faulted the treatment meted out on the former National Security Adviser, Colonel Sambo Dasuki (retd.), and perceived opponents of the administration.
Yakasai disclosed that the overwhelming feeling today was that Nigeria was on a walk- back to dictatorship, stressing that the military background of President Muhammadu Buhari had taken the front seat.

ReplyDeleteIt amazes me how Nigerians old men like him fail to appreciate the mess in the country . In fighting corruption Buhari should pick corrupt men one APC and one PDP to ensure balance? If that is your logic is Saraki no longer in APC? May God quicking the steps of your like to the grave to enable the youth enjoy the benefit of the changes

ReplyDeletewhere is the truth here? the fact is that PDP has been on the rule. they are the one that embezzle so much than meet the eyes. Moreover presidency has never arranged anybody. What we are seeing now are petition against individual by individual to EFCC/ICPC. Robbers are all thieves whether armed, young, PDP or not and they can never be said to have been victimised when caught, all or some.
