“We’ll recover all looted funds” - Osinbajo

Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo has restated that the current administration of President Muhammadu ‎Buhari will recover all looted funds and fight corruption to a standstill.

He said this Thursday in Ibadan at a conference on corruption held at the University of Ibadan.

At the conference entitled, “The Predicament of Corruption and the Quest for Holistic Development in Africa”‎, the All Progressives Congress government said to achieve this, all relevant institutions would be strengthened.

According to him, President Buhari is determined to recover looted funds and fight corruption by strengthening institutions, improving sanction and enforcement and upholding the rule of law.

While promising that the recommendations at the conference would be communicated to the Presidency for consideration, he applauded the initiative
In view of the fact that it was in partnership with the academic.

Osinbajo, who was represented by the Secretary, Presidential Advisory Committee on Anti-Corruption, Prof. Bolaji Owasanoye, noted that teaching was critical to building minds and nations.

Osinbajo said the three cardinal goals of the Buhari administration include improving security, fighting corruption and growing the economy.
‎Earlier, the Osigwe Anyiam-Osigwe Foundation called on the Federal Government to replicate the resolution of the United Nations (UN) on teaching Philosophy from secondary schools level in the country adding that this would boost the on-going anti-corruption efforts.

The foundation’s Coordinator-General, Mr Charles Anyiam-Osigwe, said the implementation would be an impetus that would help in fighting corruption.

Anyiam-Osigwe added that the late Osigwe Anyiam-Osigwe’s philosophical thought on building a society free of corrupt practices was crucial to the current efforts of the current Federal Government to rid Nigeria of corruption.

According to him, tackling corruption is only an aspect of issues that undermine Africa’s development.

“We opine that there has never been development without the philosophical compass. Transcending the primitive stage of early human existence, development evolved from the contemplative insights of thinking minds in our early societies,” he said.
