Nigeria's President Muhammadu Buhari has stated that his government would prune the number of ministries in the government bureaucracy because Nigeria is broke.
He also hinted that he appointed 36 ministers to fulfil the spirit of the constitution and that some of the ministers may not be assigned portfolios.
He said they would however sit at cabinet meetings.
He said Nigeria was materially and morally vandalised by the Jonathan administration and at the moment, the country is having great problems paying workers.
‘Where is the money’, the President shot back at his interviewer, as he underlined the great financial crisis that Nigeria is going through.
Buhari also talked about other issues like his government's alleged selective anti-corruption fight, December target for Boko Haram and many other issues.

ReplyDeleteAct first then think later, this man is funny.
ReplyDeletehis excellency, PMB there is nothing like fulfilling the spirit of the constitution, the essence of the National assembly is adjust things in certain areas where the constitution is silent or not workable any longer. if some ministers are not important,or may not be assigned portfolio, then why appoint them.why have them sit in the cabnet, on what basis will they be in the cabnet meeting? ministers without portfolios? we dont have money, trying to cut the cost of administration, yet you are appointing ministers that will only sit down and collect salary without doing anything. please have a rethink about that.
ReplyDeleteOh God, the video failed to play. How I wish the writer stated what he said about his selective anti corruption war. However as far as the truth is concern, there is no justification in leaving out Ameachi, Fashiola and Tinubu in anti-corruption war and arresting others. PMB should also arrest his friends that are corrupt to show that he is completely against corruption and there is no sacred cows. I know he will try to politically defend them just as GEJ did in his administration. That makes GEJ and PMB the same
