Kogi 2015: Wada seeks level playing field from Buhari

Governor Idris Wada of Kogi State on Wednesday said all he needed from President Muhammadu Buhari and the Federal Government is a level playing field before and during the forthcoming governorship election in the state.

Wada of the Peoples Democratic Party will be facing former Governor Abubakar Audu of the All Progressives Congress in the election slated for November 21.

He spoke with State House correspondents shortly after meeting behind closed doors with Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The governor said if a level playing field was created for the election, the people of the state would give him overwhelming support at the poll based on his performance in office.

He said, “I will tell the people of the state to keep faith because we have a transparent President.

“Provided a level playing field is created and security is tightened, any miscreant dealt with in the course of the election, people given the opportunity to express their will, I believe that on the basis of performance I have laid down over the last three-and-a-half years, our people will provide an overwhelming support for my candidacy.

“All we need is a level playing field.”

He said he was working hard ahead of the elections.

The governor disclosed that he was also working with security agencies to ensure that there is a secured and safe environment for the people of the state in the course of the campaign and during the election.
