Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, has visited Yola, Adamawa State capital to inspect a plot of land allocated to build a secondary school for children of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and the less privileged.
Governor Okorocha visited the project on Monday, in fulfillment of the promise he made during the last APC Governors’ meeting in Adamawa State.
Led by the Governor of Adamawa State, Mohammed Umaru Jibrilla, his Deputy, Martins Babale and some members of the State Executive Council, Governor Okorocha was taken round the site for inspection.
The school, when completed, would be under the auspices of the Rochas Foundation, which was established 14 years ago and has graduated over 2000 students in various fields.
Speaking to journalists at the Adamawa State Government House after the inspection, Governor Okorocha expressed delight in embarking on the project that will provide free education to the less privileged.
“The project couldn’t have come at a better time considering the damage done to education in the North-East by insurgency”, he said. Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday
