Scores trapped as building collapses in Lagos Island

Many feared trapped as three storey building collapses at Odunfa Street, Lagos Island.
The building reportedly collapsed at about 8:40am, with some of the workers trapped underneath.
The General Manger, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) Mr. Michael Akindele and the Director Lagos State Fire Service, Rasaq Fadipe who were at the scene confirmed the incidence.
“People were reported trapped and search and rescue operations are ongoing,” said Fadipe.
Already some rural dwellers succeeded in rescuing six persons before the arrival of emergency workers.
Two other persons, were recovered unconscious by the emergency services, and they have been rushed to the hospital.

ReplyDeleteWhere in Lagos Island is Odunfa Street? I hope NE isn' t shielding the truth? I heard of a collapsed building in a site where a building under construction collapsed in September. Another one collapsed on Tuesday in the same premises on Agungi Road, Lekki. NE, say it as it is please.
