A former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Chief Olu Falae, has said if he had been killed by the Fulani herdsmen, who kidnapped him, there would have been an outbreak of ethnic war between the Fulani and the Yoruba people.
The elder stateman, who was kidnapped on his farm in Ilado village, Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State on Monday, September 21 and freed on September 24, 2015, noted that he survived the abduction through the grace of God as the abductors attempted to take his life during the captivity.
He stated this on Thursday while narrating his ordeal in the kidnappers den to the immediate former Minster of Education, Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau, who paid him a visit to sympathise with him over the incident.
Falae said, “God has a way of doing His things. I know God just decided to spare my life; God really saved my life. They tortured me, stripped me naked and did a lot of things to me in their den. They attempted to killed me but they did not succeed.
“I also thank God for making me to survive the ordeal because if I they had killed me there, many lives would have been lost too, it would have become an ethnic war between the Yoruba and the Fulani. So I thank God that the matter did not get to that level.”
Expressing his sympathy to the former SGF, Shekarau said the only solution to the security challenges in the country was for the people of the country to embrace community policing, where everybody would be a policeman in the community.
The former governor of Kano State said there was a need for government at all levels in the country to encourage community policing, noting that the regular policemen could not do it alone.
“The issue of security should be the concern of everybody, not only the policemen. Our government should do everything possible to encourage community policing. Everybody should be a policeman, everybody should be his brother’s keeper. We should learn how to immediately report any act criminality to the security.
“It is very unfortunate that this kind of thing happened to an elderly man like Chief Falae, who had served this country meritoriously, ” the former minister stressed. Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday

Thank God for your life. But oga, to be honest your yoruba kinsmen could have threatened war but will end up doing nothing. They are cowards. They only shout when an Igbo man is concerned knowing that money may come out.
ReplyDeleteGentlemen, I will be honest. If he was killed by the Fulani herdsmen there should not have been any ethnic war. we know who Nigerian betrayals and cowards are.
ReplyDeleteYoruba don't have the liver to fight. They only make noise when an Igbo man is involved.
ReplyDeleteWar? Yoruba? Heheheheeee. Keep flattering yourself. The best you will get is the support of Lagos press and youruba leaders begging for peace. Park well papa.
ReplyDeleteThis old man is just seeking relevance
ReplyDeleteIf this Statement are true, then Falue should stop exposing his odeal with kidnappers to public becouse nobody will go to war bcos of him. He is an example of sectional leader who c no good from other part of the country. We believed in one Nigeria.
ReplyDeleteIn the old barbaric days, yes taking to arms and ammunitions was the only way to settle score which unfortunately was the language understood by some tribes and people not only in Nigeria but all over the world. The main reason laws and criminal justice was enacted was to settle disputes and bring criminals to justice in more responsible and humanely ways.Yoruba are not barbaric like the people here advocating for civil or sectarian war, they would use the legal system to find, apprehend, prosecute and punish offenders and criminals.Getting good education that would be useful for the development and enlightenment of the majority counts far better than advocating for war or bringing disgrace to the nation from criminal activities committed all-over the world
ReplyDeleteM K O Abiola will be mocking Falaes statement. Which kind of war. he could have died for nothing. Unkown gun men. The Yorubas I know will simply wear uniform, aet and thro party and even celebrate his birth day after his death,
ReplyDeletePapa, dooooooo, ekpele oo, thank God for your life, pray 🙏 for your kidnappers in the hands 👐 of the security, forgive them, and pray for Nigeria. Yoruba, Fulani are one. Ishe agwarie eehii.

ReplyDeleteFunny you guys call Yoruba cowards cos they dont take up arms and fight. Yet it is known in this country that everytime the Yoruba people are cheated in this country they have come back to win through dialogue and engagement of our adversaries. The win is usually with minimum chaos and bloodshed. Tell me which is better losing thoudands of lives in a senseless battle becos you think you are brave only to come to a round table to discuss peace later or discussing now and resolving the issues?
ReplyDeleteYou guys can go on fighting and killing yourselves. The Yoruba man has since learnt that this is useless and barbaric.
Unnecessary hubris! Nothing would have happened I assure you.
