Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari have declared his assets
A statement by the Senior Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Garba Shehu said that prior to being sworn in on May 29, President Buhari had the followings:
- N30 million to his name. He also had only one bank account, with the Union Bank.
- 5 homes, and two mud houses in Daura
- 2 undeveloped plots of land, one in Kano and the other in Port Harcourt.
- Own Farms, an orchard and a ranch. The total number of his holdings in the farm include 270 heads of cattle, 25 sheep, five horses, a variety of birds and a number of economic trees”.
- Uses a number of cars, two of which he bought from his savings and the others supplied to him by the federal government in his capacity as former Head of State. The rest were donated to him by well-wishers after his jeep was damaged in a Boko Haram bomb attack on his convoy in July 2014.
- President Buhari “had shares in Berger Paints, Union Bank and Skye Bank”.
By declaring their assets, the statement said that President Buhari and Vice President Osinbajo may have not only fulfilled the requirements of the Nigerian Constitution, but also fulfilled the first of their many campaign promises.
It noted that while seeking election into the highest office in the land, the President had promised Nigerians that he would publicly declare his assets as soon as he took over government. Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday

ReplyDeletewhat has declaring assets got to do with all these developments?
DeleteThis is the change that will benefit all Nigerians . Compared to Jonathan who refused to publicly declare his assets and said he's doesn't care what anybody says about it. Haters should stop hating and stop mourning more than the bereaved. Jonathan is sitting pretty enjoying his undeclared loot and people who's future he has plundered are still mourning and hating because of him. It's sad.
ReplyDeleteGood name is better than ill gotten wealth. May Allah swt guide them amin.
ReplyDeleteMay the Lord God continued his good work upon your heads. May he save this our great country true Mr president and the vice..
ReplyDeleteTrust Mr President, He keeps a herd of cattle! It's impressive; worthy of emulation by all good people. And, Mr Anonymous up there, let us stop mentioning GEJ; where PMB stands as tall as an Iroko tree, Jonathan is as short as a Lilliputian - no basis for comparison at all.
ReplyDeleteWell done, both Mr President and his Vice.I only hope the State Governors will take a cue from this.
