THE Director-General of Nigerian Copyright Commission, NCC, Mr. Afam Ezekude, has denied reports that the commission owes its staff salaries.
Speaking in Abuja, Ezekude, a lawyer, said the allegations by the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria, ASCSN, that NCC had stopped paying salaries were false.
The NCC boss said all staff of the commission had been paid salaries through the Federal Government’s Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System, IPPIS, “except few staff that have absented themselves from work for three consecutive months without any form of permission.”
Ezekude noted that the commission was relying on government’s Rule of Law and that no one or organization will get away with impunity.
Ezekude alleged that he was being vilified because he insisted that due process be followed in the formation of union within the commission. Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday
