ICPC returns N924 Million stolen funds to ministry of environment


The anti-corruption fight under President Muhammadu Buhari received a major boast this week as The Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) on Monday returned the sum of N924m stolen fund diverted from the desertification project to the Federal Ministry of Environment.


Also, over N56m recovered from the N103m meant for feeding of students in three federal colleges were returned to the school principals.

Speaking at a brief ceremony for the Release of Recovered Fund, in Abuja, the Chairman of ICPC, Bar. Ekpo Nta promised to recover all government money diverted, calling for the peoples’ cooperation.

He said that “investigations continue and recoveries are on going with the cooperation of the suspect.”

  4. Better to recover all that is possible, then jail only those who have squandered or refuse to return their ill-gotten wealth. If govt prosecutes people who are voluntarily returning money, then others will simply flee the country or accept jail rather than lose more money + jail. God bless Naija

  5. Money meant to check desertification of the North was diverted by the some Northerners! What a shame. We know the idiots. I hope Buhari will bring them to book. Where is APC?
