According to a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the governor on Media and Public Affairs, Prince Kassim Afegbua, on Wednesday, those affected included the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftancy Affairs, Chief Lucky James; and Commissioner for Women Affairs, Mrs. Blessing Maigida.
Others are the Commissioner for Basic Education, Mr. Patrick Aguinede; and the Commissioner for Energy and Water Resources, Mr. Chris Ebare.
Oshiomhole, who did not give any reason for the termination of his former cabinet members, however, noted that his action was "in line with government's commitment to strengthen the system towards optimal performance."
The governor said their disengagement from his cabinet was with immediate effect and also directed them to handover all government property in their possession to the permanent secretaries in their respective ministries.
"The Comrade Governor expresses his appreciation to the former commissioners for their services to the state and wishes them well in their future endeavours," the statement added. Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday

ReplyDeleteNothing in the constitution stops any appointed public servant being replaced. If Fayose replaces any of his commissioner in a justifiable way I don't see why anyone should complain.Unfortunately Fayose has been convicted for fraud before so it's understandable when people don't trust a fraudster
DeleteAdams were they eyeing your wife?
