The Federal Ministry of Transport will review employments, placements and promotions in Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency since 2010.
This is contained in a statement issued by Hajia Lami Tumaka, Head of Public Relations and made available to newsmen on Monday in Lagos.
The statement said a committee headed by Mr Lawal Ibrahim, the ministry’s Director of Human Resources, had been constituted to carry out the review.
It added that the committee would determine whether employments, placements and promotions in NIMASA from 2010 to date conformed to civil service procedures.
The statement said the committee would also determine if the employments, placements and promotions were in line with the Principle of Federal Character.
It said the nine-member committee which had since commenced sitting, had two weeks to complete the assignment and submit its recommendations to Malam Mohammed Bashar, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Transport.
Mr Haruna Jauro acting Director-General of NIMASA, said the exercise was aimed at ensuring proper staff placement in line with existing Federal Civil Service regulations.
He noted that the exercise would also aid the process of motivating the staff of the agency and getting the best out of them in the discharge of their responsibilities.
He said the interest of staff would be protected as the civil service rule emphasised fairness and equity.
Jauro expressed confidence that the exercise would boost the morale of staff for enhanced productivity.

ReplyDeleteIs rather unfortunate this is happening in NIMASA. is NIMASA the only Agency that has employed since 2010? we are talking of unemployment issues in this country now you want to push people out of job. Is this all part of the change? all because it didnt favour APC. I will advise Buhary to stop being sentimental and take all Nigerians as one, treat us as one and stop enriching one section and leaving the other. it is obvious that Buhari hates the people of south south and south east but again i blame our people because they caused whatsoever is happening to us. im very sure people like Rotimy Amaechi,Bola Tinubu, Rochas okorocha are weeping in their heart now eventhough they wont cry out publickly. Next time they must learn how to protect and correct their own in a better way that is if they ever have an oppertunity to do that. God will help us in the south south and south east. IBG
