Lovers of noodles in Nigeria must be careful of the distribution and sales of a particular brand of noodles in the country.
The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, has warned of some Maggi noodles produced by Nestle India.
NAFDAC said these noodles contained excess lead and were therefore deemed unsafe and hazardous for human consumption.
“Nestle has recalled its Maggi instant noodles from stores across India following the report by the Indian Food Safety Regulators of probable lead contamination. Lead exposure causes an estimated 143,000 deaths a year worldwide.
“In view of the potential safety concerns on consumption of the lead contaminated Maggi instant noodles, NAFDAC warns that Maggi instant noodles produced by Nestle India should not be consumed.
“Departmental stores, wholesalers and retailers should also be proactive in ensuring that such products are brought to NAFDAC if they come across any, and under no circumstances should such products be sold,” NAFDAC said Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday

Nafdac good morning. This news is as old as three months in Indian and you are just warning Nigerian today. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteDespite it being old news, if India didn't spot it NAFDAC wont even know.
ReplyDeleteNafdac and Nigerians, so you didn't even look into to the product safety before it circulate the country. Shame on you
ReplyDeleteWhat a shame! Did this product fly through the air. My advise's if such item is found in any part of the country the source must be thoroughly investigated. I point out to all unpatriotic citizens of country to desist further from tarnishing the image of this because of self enrichment. I want Nigerians to understand that it's only this country is dignified that her citizens will be respected. It's often said that as you make your bed, so you lay on it
ReplyDeleteAre you surprise, Nigerian are the survival. God helplus us. We have to be grateful is sported. Who cares?? As long as they got their money.
