Following the recent asset declaration by President Muhammadu Buhari, Balarabe Musa, who was sacked from office in 1983 by Buhari, said that it was clear from the assets listed that the President that he is a multi-billionaire, who also wields enormous power and influence and cannot therefore be seen as a peasant committed to the well being of the less privileged.
Noting, however, that the declaration is better late than never, apparently referring to previous presidents, who did not care to make public their worth, he doubted what Buhari presented to the public, saying that it was at variance with the low profile and ‘poor man’ posture the president had wanted to foist on Nigerians.
He said: “Before the last election, Buhari had given us the erroneous impression that he was a poor man, requiring bank loans to buy nomination form and run his campaigns but now he has shown that he has cash of N30 million, huge investments in companies and banks and farm assets.
“By this declaration, it is clear that Buhari is one of the wealthy and influential Nigerians, who wield enormous power. He can therefore, no longer pretend to be among the poor masses and I doubt if he can still effect the change he promised the poor. We are therefore, waiting and watching to see the expected change.” Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday

Mallam Musa, are U saying that Mallam Buhari lied during his campaign that he borrow money to buy his party nomination form?
ReplyDeleteBesides, had PMB paid back the bank loan, before declearing #30m?
Old disgruntled man, relax Balarabe. Your time has been up.
ReplyDeleteBuhari is older than Balarabe Musa!
DeleteThere are times that I have less than 2000 naira in my account and the following day I have more than a million. The timing depends on whether i have exhausted my account to buy shares and when i have off-loaded them. Buhari told us the truth. Liquid cash makes crazy swings. We should not play unnecessary politics when our leaders are doing their best to follow and show us the right path!
ReplyDeleteIf you value Buhari's properties, they will run into nearly One Billion Naira
DeleteThere are times you have assets and money in the bank but you still choose to borrow anyway. Most businesses are run that way. If you think Dangote's companies do not have overdrafts or loans from any bank, then you don't know how businesses are run.
ReplyDeleteWhat Balarabe Musa should tell us is if there are other significant assets PMB has which he has failed to declare. That is actually the way it should work: Someone publicly declares his assets, then whoever knows of his undeclared assets expose him. The more important declaration is at the end of the tenure. He will declare his assets again at that time and, if there has been a huge increase that cannot be explained by his legitimate income during his tenure, then you call him to explain.
Wait oh! Why are you attacking thus messenger? Deal with the point made.it is a point of view.
ReplyDeleteBalarabe Musa was not ousted out of office by Buhari in 1983 but was impeached by the kaduna house of assembly one year after his election. .Mr Balarabe Musa is entitle to his opinion with regards to asset declaration of the president.
ReplyDeleteAnd what concern you Mr pessimist Balarabe dan Musa?
ReplyDeleteThank God nigerianeye have identified you as a once sacked corrupt person. Stupid man you should leave Buhari to work for our dear country instead of your poor and undecorous takls
Mallam Musa is ur hands clean?
ReplyDeleteHow do we hold our leaders responsible?are we looking at individual opinions on dis issues or we are attacking individual opinions?nobody cares about the truth or lies anymore so far it is coming from Buhari.PMB did not have result we are ok,he has less Dan 2m in Dec now 30m we are,has 150cows in Feb/March but now 250 abi?2 houses before but now 7?no landed properties but 2 lands abi?may God help us all.
ReplyDeleteBuhari is a multi billionaire. He was on a salary of N27 million monthly as an ex head of state and when you multiply that by the months he has been an ex. You will realize that he is either a habitual liar or a poor manager of money. I am not impressed or depressed in the least by the asset declaration because this is Nigeria where anything goes .
ReplyDeleteHow can u decide to use ur God given mouth to defend a lie....Buhari is a Lier, this same man said he has 1 million only In his accnt during the time he needed to purchase the form for presidential race (this is at the time he has saved a lot because he was aware he's running for president) ...wait a minute all buhari's children live and studied in the UK and came bk for the presidential inauguration, I studied in the UK and I can tell u the tuition is quite high so my question is in all these years who's been paying for buhari s children tuition and accommodation and their stay in the UK. Buhari deceives helpless Nigeria about owning cows(that can't pay for his weekly expenses) and having only a million in his accnt while he has a mansion in the UK and drives on bulletproof cars...Buhari is simply taking advantage of narrow minded Nigerians and the masses are clapping and smiling .what a shame
ReplyDelete@el matosky please help me to ask them that question again.
ReplyDeleteMay God remove the scale off from our eyes, we are sooooo helpless and gullible in Nigeria......hmmmm.
ReplyDeleteDumb and gullible Nigerians. Buhari is a deceiver.
