‘Buhari has kept his 100 days Chatham House promises’

President Muhammadu Buhari has kept his promises made last February 26th at Chatham House, London the Buhari-Osinbajo Diaspora Organisation Think Tank Group (BTTG) in the UK has said.

A statement by the executive board of the organisation Nigerians and the world should not forget that President Buhari called the idea of 100 days in office for what it can be and clearly stated what he would rather focus on at the start of his presidency.

The statement was jointly by the Co-Chair/Group Administration Dr. Dapo Williams, Co-Chair/Political Strategy Hajia Khalima K. Lamisila, Chairman Board of Trustees (BoT) Chief Wale Kalejaiye, General Secretary Barrister J.K Adebola and 18 others.

However the BTTG said while many are looking at the idea of 100 days, they were concerned on what Buhari actually promised Nigerians in his first 100 days into.

The group among others said the expose of many of the shady deals of previous administration, single account for all government earnings, no direct unbudgeted deductions, the stoppage of federal government sponsorship of pilgrimage, increase in government earnings even with poor oil price, the stability in power supply and the resurrection of the refineries among others were promise kept by Buhari

They also said that the increase in our foreign reserve, the EFCC and ICPC finally being alive to their responsibility, the credibility of Nigeria being, restored across the world and the Presidential order to clean up Ogoni land were also promise kept by Buhari.

“Just to go first to the ‘first 100 days’, some of it is fraudulent and I don’t want to participate in any fraud in any form. Nigerians know that we are in trouble as a people and as a country.

When we get there we will quickly get correct intelligence of what is on the ground and inform Nigerians and just in line with what I have just read, we will make sure that misappropriation and misapplication of public resources will not be allowed. You would be surprised by how much savings we will realize. That saving will be ploughed back into development and this is what I can promise. But I would remove that ‘100 days’” Buhari had said in London.
