President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Mr. Dominic Ojiabor Abonyi as Registrar/Chief Executive Officer of the Environmental Health Officers Registration Council of Nigeria.
A statement issued on Tuesday evening by EHORECON’s Head (Press and Public Communications), Mr. Kehinde Openibo, said the appointment took effect from September 3, 2015 as stipulated by the provisions of the Public Service Rule and other Regulations of Federal Republic of Nigeria in Furtherance of the provisions of Environmental Health Officers (Registration etc) Act, 2002.
Until his appointment, Abonyi was the agency Head, Department of Registration, Ethics, Standard and Enforcement and acting Registrar, following the expiration of the tenure of Mr. Augustine Ebisike on August 14, 2015.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology from the University of Nigeria, Nsuka and also a Masters in Pharmaceutical Microbiology from the same University. Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday

You know, when Buhari appointed Kachiku as NNPC GMD, my Igbo friend who is objective and not ethnically biased as some Igbo commentators on this platform, posted on his Facebook page that, yes, PMB has appointed 'Alhaji' Kachiku, another 'northerner' to the NNPC top job - of course he was only being sarcastic, so when another friend corrected that Kachiku was Igbo, yet another Igbo friend who is a die-hard ethnic jingoist, quickly pointed that Kachiku is not a "genuine Igbo"! I laughed and asked myself, so there are genuine and fake Igbos! These failed Biafrans don tire me.

Its an no count appointment. Who even knew that council existed sef. And if he is igbo, he just replaced another Igbo man. It's irrelevant. He can appoint a northerner for that post. We don't mind
