'Nigeria should allow baby factories' - Former Jonathan aide, Reno Omokri explains why...

A former Special Assistant to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan on New Media, Reno Omokri, has expressed displeasure over crackdown on “baby factories” in the country, saying the practice should be allowed by government.

Mr. Omokri, the founder of the Mind of Christ Christian Centre in California, said calling the practice baby factory is stigmatization as it should be called surrogate motherhood.

“Every civilized nation accepts and promotes this practice as a humane option for childless couples,” he said stated.

Mr. Omokri, a pastor, wondered why Nigeria did not legalize a practice that brings succour to childless couple.
Women busted in a baby factory in South-East Nigeria

“I have been appalled reading about the raids on so called ‘Baby Factories’ in the media lately.

These raids are a throwback to the Salem Witch Trials and I cannot believe that in Nigeria of the 21st Century we are stigmatizing what is an acceptable world wide culture that has brought hope to childless couples all over the world,’ he said in the article.

The former presidential aide continued, “For the avoidance of doubt, these women are surrogate mothers who have children for childless couples. Every civilized nation accepts and promotes this practice as a humane option for childless couples.

“The main reason many childless couples prefer a surrogate mother is because they want to know about the family history and genetics of the mother of their unborn child.

“In many cases, when you adopt a child without knowing who the parents are and there arises a need in future for a blood transfusion or an organ donor, many adoptive parents get stuck. Other medical issues like cancer, or behavioral issues like autism and ADD/ADHD are better diagnosed and treated if you have family history, which is not possible with anonymous adoptions. So, the idea of surrogate motherhood fills this gap.

“In Europe and the Americas as well as in Asia, surrogate mothers are well sought after and advertisements are placed in bus stations, newspapers, on the underground as well as on the Internet seeking out such women. I have included one such advert in this piece.

“Tens of thousands of surrogate children are born each year in the Americas and even more in Europe. Anyone who has ever experienced childlessness either directly or indirectly through a relative, extended family or friend is likely to appreciate the role surrogate mothers play in bringing succor to such families. To ostracize them and tag them ‘Baby Factories’ is most unfortunate indeed.”

What's your take on this, do you agree with Mr Reno?

    1. If only you knew that the secondary purpose of baby factories was to provide babies for couples. The primary purpose of baby factories is to provide day old babies and feotus for RITUALS. The government's cracking down on these things know what their colleagues are doing with these babies. This way they don't have to kidnap babies from hospital wards to fulfil their diabolic desires. Many Nigerians are living in total ignorance of the goings on around them.

  7. It is not an alien culture. I'm from one of the riverine communities in Rivers state and I've been told that in the old days, my people have bought males and females from the eastern part of the Eastern part of the country and these men and women were made to procreate in a bit to increase the population of their owner's compound.

  8. I actually think it makes sense. They should be legalized and properly monitored so that those with evil intentions are not able to adopt the babies.

  9. Is this guy even sane at all? The women in the baby factories in Nigeria aren't carrying babies for would be parents. One or more guy(s) sleep(s) with these girls so they get pregnant and the children given birth to are sold to willing mothers or couples who need this wicked illegality.
What we have in Nigeria is not surrogate motherhood but slavery and evil.
One question Mr Omokri, the children born in the baby factories in Nigeria, are they in any way (sperm/egg) related to the parents who buy them? Again I ask you do you even know the meaning of surrogate motherhood?
No wonder GEJ's govt was so messed up. With advisers like you there is NO WAY he could have done any good NO WAY

  10. in other worlds the idiot of a man should know that its the sperm and the
eggs of the female that is inside the surrogate mother

the baby factory, it is the egg and an unknown father's sperm that is
in the female, and its all worth 200,000 - 500,000 Naira

  11. Well, the operators should seek the backing of the law. So long as the practice is not backed by law in Nigeria it is illegal. Mr Omokri should find out the position of the Nigerian law before comparing Nigeria with other countries. If America does it does not mean Nigeria should do it too. We must get iver this mentality and always look for our own solutions. Surrogate motherhood must be monitored and regulated to avoid abuse. They should not operate in secret.

    1. I agree with you. The problem is the lack of adequate regulation in Nigeria. It is open to abuse.

  12. The last time I checked couples don't buy the babies they want to adopt. Maybe you should provide one of your daughters to act as your so called surrogate mothers so we can really buy into your silly and illusive idea.

  13. Surrogate mothers are matured adult women who on their own volition choose to carry other people's baby for a fee or even for free depending on the arrangement. Some mothers have even acted as surrogate mothers for their childless daughters.

However, what obtains in Nigeria is that people kidnap and keep young women in their custody and bring young men to be impregnating them for a fee. When the children are born, they are sold out to anybody that cares for them while the lady quickly get impregnated again.

I know Omokri will not allow his own daughter to do that but will want other people's daughter to do so for those robbers.

  15. the evil man is not a pastor and should not be addressed as such. may be he should donate his daughters, his wife, mother and his sisters to help provide succor to the pple he is willing to please. you destroy human beings to please other human beings based on their unfortunate status in the society and not will. is there any other form of abuse that is more than this?
