Pan Igbo socio cultural organization, Igbo Renaissance Movement has urged it’s leaders to approach President Muhammadu Buhari with humility over cries of marginalization.
The National Coordinator of the Group, chief Chris Chukwubuzor Azuka in a statement made available to Reporters in Kano Sunday, described the sustainable attack on Mr. President over alleged marginalization as a ‘misplaced aggression’.
Chief Azuka in the statement which was jointly signed by him and Deacon Kingsley Godwin said that “this is the time to approach President Buhari with humility to rebuild trust, friendship and to pledge our loyalty to his government”.
The Igbo chief further enjoined his kinsmen to desist from building tower of isolation and antagonism, as he stressed that ” being the antagonist to our neighbour would not do us no good”.
The Igbo Renaissance Movement noted that the race was been hunted by its ” blind politics of hate, bitterness, isolation, greed over this year’s,” but however pointed out that ‘this is the time for the Ndigbo to engage in honest self examination and soul searching’.
The statement declared that the important challenge facing Igbo’s nation now is dart of leadership and therefore called on its stakeholders to put it’s house in order for common good.
The Igbo group endorsed President Buhari war on corrupt leaders no matter who they are and where they comes from, adding that “they have stolen for themselves and their families alone and none stole on behalf of their tribe. ”
The statement added that “we urged the President to continue with his efforts to recover from corrupt criminals what they have stolen from the public vault, and whoever have stolen should surrender themselves to the law.” Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday

At last a reasonable Igbo man has spoken.
ReplyDeleteDeacon Kingsley Godwin. What an Igbo name. Bunch of clowns
ReplyDeletePART 1). The antagonistic mien against PMB is just to smear and destabilize his government... so is their thought. Their concern has always been to have a Biafra Republic rather than building hands of friendship, collaboration, and cooperation across the Niger with fellow brothers and neighbors. The Biafra protagonist have failed in their futile attempt to understand that not one single tribe or people can do it alone (vote to be the president of a Country) especially in a democracy where it is a game of numbers and the majority votes wins. The Igbo's need to go back to the drawing board and learn how to play politics without sentiment or playing the tribal card at the slightest opportunity especially after any loss at the polls. The idea that the Ijaws & Kalabaris, the Ogonis , Ibibios , Efiks, Ikwerre & Etche’s and the Edo people will support and align with them to break away and form Biafra is the greatest blunder they will make for it shall eventually dawn on them they are living in a dream as these other tribes have moved-on eons ago away from the short sighted and parochial thinking of the post Biafra hangover. It beats everyone’s imagination hollow, for the hard line Igbo's to complain that the newly appointed Group Managing Director (GMD) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Dr. Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu, is not a “TRUE IGBO” (Not Igbo enough) simply because he is from Asaba! . These remarks emanating from some Igbo minority groups is not only distastefully insulting to the person of Kachikwu, but smacks of pure hatred, selfishness and smacks of racial bias which further buttress the thoughts in many circles that the hardline Igbo's will never see anything good or worthy of praise of PMB as they have always been the harshest critic of PMB and his government, going by their irrational stance on almost all his policies so far. End of Part 1.
ReplyDeletePART 2). The Igbo's (some minority faction) calling for a breakup of Nigeria for the emergence of Biafra are mostly those who do not live outside Igbo Land and erroneously believe they have absolutely nothing to lose. It is rather sad and unfortunate that surprisingly; some Igbo elders are either watching the rising trend with beaming mien or urging their kins men on. We do not want another "Hutu vs Tutsi" kind of calamity to befall this country, as it is an ill wind that will do no one any good. However, judging by the hate campaign and vituperative propaganda from Radio Biafra urging the extermination of the entity called Nigeria and its replacement by their "El-Dorado" nation of Biafra, it is the responsibility of ALL to nip this trend in the bud… a stitch on time saves nine. For those beating the drums of war both young and old... we should all pause for a while and give a deep thought to the fact that "it is only the beginning of a war that is known, but no one knows where and when the war will end"cooperation across the Niger with their brothers and neighbours. The Igbo's have failed to understand that no one single tribe or people can do it alone (to be the president) especially in a democracy where it is a game of numbers and the majority votes wins. The Igbo's need to go back to the drawing board and learn how to play politics without sentiment and playing the tribal cards and complaining at the end. Thinking that the Ijaws, Ibibio's, Ikwerre's and the Bini people will support and align with them to break away and form Biafra is the greatest mistake they will make and they are living in a dream as those tribes have moved on away from the short sighted and parochial thinking. For the Igbo's to complain that Group Managing Director (GMD) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Dr. Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu, is not a TRUE IGBO (Not Igbo enough) because he is from Asaba is not only distastefully insultive but smacks of pure hatred and selfishness and only buttress the thoughts in many circles that the Igbo's will never see anything good or worthy of praise of PMB as they have always been the harshest critic of PMB going by their irrational stance on all his policies so far. Those Igbo's calling for a breakup of Nigeria and the emergence of the renewed quest for Biafra are mostly those who do not live outside Igbo Land and erroneously believe they have absolutely nothing to lose and it is rather sad and unfortunate that some Igbo elders are either watching with beaming smile or urging them on. We do not want another "Hutu vs Tutsi" kind of calamity to befall this country judging hate campaign and vituperative propaganda the Biafra Hate Radio urging the extermination of the entity called Nigeria and replacement by their "El-Dorado" nation of Biafra. For those beating the drums of war both young and old... we should all paule and give a deep thought that "it is only the beginning of a war that is known but no one knows where and when it shall end" .
ReplyDeleteWell spoken ,mr anonymous ,first let me correct your myopic impression of Igbos
ReplyDeleteIgbos have all it takes to survive alone even without the Oil
Igbos have enough connection with the outside world to emerge as Japan of Africa without a Nigeria
Igbos do not hate Buhari but they are suspicious of Him being a major figure in the Biafran massacre
BUhari has done all His previous campaign without reaching out to SE only in this election did He consider them may be as Ojukwu is now late
The appointments and actions of BUHARI so far has not entirely proved the Igbos wrong
How many of the so called luters,of our money are Igbos,we survive on our struggle
nigeria is based on a tripod stand Biafra,Arewa, and Oduduwa republics and any arrangement that shortchanged any will affect the Nierian Republic
There is nothing wrong in being an opposition party,it helpes the system to grow
Igbos do not do hero worship, every one is equal and every one must be respected,That PMB is president does not move any Igbo man,we respect Him as president but we cannot worship him or bow for Him because of appointment
Igbos are patient
Why this castigation of Igbos ,al the insurgents and rebels have been compensated ,MEND etc ,even the Boko haram NE reconstruction loan has been secured before the war is over .what form of reparation has Nigeria given to SE
I travel all over Nig and I marvel at what Nigeria govt is doing for them but for Igbos it is self help ,no single Fed govt presence .No air port ,No sea port ,people say GEJ failed in the Onitsha bridge project but I tell you He was frustrated because that bridge was to be done to accommodate a sea port but off course Lagos will collapse if all Igbo/SE cargoes go to Onitsha
Please shut up and analyze a people and their agitation before you conclude
If God say Biafra will stand ,then It will.
If Nigerains hate Igbos like this ,why not let them go like Pharoe let Isreal go .let them go,and if we perish we perish.
Let Igbos be ,they have made their choice and we wait till 2019 for another chance ,we are still better off than most parts of Nigeria that have been enjoying the NIG cake for long
Well spoken my brother, I hope the stupid anonymous 9:11pm will read this.
ReplyDeleteInasmuch as there is some element of reasoning in the article, I can assure you that those guys are playing the typical Igbo man role in naija polity. They are upcoming sycophants and Buhari should beware of those guys. Have you ever wondered why most outspoken praise singers of our past leaders are Igbo guys? From the time of Sani Abacha to GEJ, all outspoken Campaign groups/NGO are the brainchild of Igbos. The painful reality is that they will never play that role for their own kinsmen, hence the the reason why the Igbos can hardly make impact in national politics. We the Igbos are our own enemy. Period.
