Fashola needs to be probed - PDP

Following a huge debt burden of N418.2 billion left behind by former governor of Lagos State, Mr Babatunde Fashola, the Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has restated its call on the state government to probe the Fashola administration.

But the state government has dismissed the possibility of probing the Fashola administration, saying there is nothing to probe.

This indication was made known by a source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

When journalists asked whether the Fashola administration would be probed, the source simply said “it is not possible, that is not on the card. We are in the same party which does not put it on the card for now.”

The PDP expressed concerns over why the former governor was not being investigated by his successor, Akinwumi Ambode.

While calling on Ambode to immediately commence the probe of Fashola’s eight years administration, the PDP also said that the APC administration is still on the start block, making promises, when it ought to have hit the ground working to fulfil already made promises.

The party’s spokesman, Mr Taofik Gani, described the situation as “bad omen for any meaningful development in the coming four years of this administration.”

He alleged that the eight years of Fashola’s administration were characterized by Human Rights violations coupled with ‘digital and analogue’ styles of stealing of public funds that can only be ignored by a successor who is a conspirator-governor.

  1. Pdpigs have come again. Did Jonathan or Yadua probe Obasanjo? Stop taking panadol for someone else's headache. Let us probe Jonathan first.
