The four state governors wives witnessed the commissioning of houses built by the wife of the Imo state Governor, Mrs. Nneoma Nkechi Okorocha for indigent widows and skill acquisition centre, with Mrs. Osinbajo telling the crowd of women that she had brought goodwill message from the president’s wife, who she said was very indisposed.

Mrs. Osinbajo said that the time has come for women in Nigeria to rise and do what they are good in doing and that is to build good homes, noting that if the women in the country do, what they are expected to do the nation will not be the same and the women themselves and Nigerians will never be the same also.

She charged the women of Imo state to remain united and noted that with their unity of purpose they could upgrade the state to an enviable height of greatness, commending the Imo state Governor’s wife Mrs. Okorocha for changing the lives of less privileged women through her pet projects, designed to alleviate the burdens of indigent women in the state.

Governor Okorocha in his speech assured that Imo people would do all they could to support President Mohammadu Buhari to ensure he succeeds, remarking that President Buhari must succeed since he has all it takes to make a good president.

Okorocha also called for women to be given opportunities to exhibit their potentials noting that if he didn’t give the wife the opportunity to showcase her endowment, he would not have known that she is a woman with great ideas.

The Imo governor hinted also that the state would continue to build bridges across the nation since it is better to make friends than to do otherwise, and thanked the wife of the president for honouring the 2015 Imo women August meeting by sending the wife of the Vice President to represent her. He also thanked the wives of other governors who found time out of their crowded programmes to grace the event.

The wife of the Imo state Governor, Mrs. Nneoma Nkechi Okorocha had earlier in her speech said the value of every office depends on the extent such office is used to serve God and humanity, adding that to her, the office of the governor’s wife would be meaningless if it is not used to add value to the lives of some people hence her pet project christened “SHE NEEDS A ROOF PROJECT,” which she said she had used to build homes for indigent widows.

According to her, she had also used the opportunity being the governor’s wife has given to her to spur women of the state to dream big to enable them achieve big hence the theme of the 2015 Women August Meeting , “Dare to Dream” with a rider, “It is Possible.”

She assured that she would continue to pilot the affairs of the Imo women to discover and promote hidden talents among them and said that such steps have been rewarding. She thanked the wife of the president, Hajia Buhari and the wife of the vice president, Mrs. Osinbajo for loving Imo women.
