'Blackmail won’t help your case' - Oshiomhole tells Okonjo-Iweala

Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State has said that there is nothing ‘personal’ between him and former Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.

And that blackmail won’t help her case.

The Edo State Governor in a statement on Thursday said the questions he asked were: how come those accruals into the Excess Crude Account got depleted without the knowledge of the National Economic Council?

The statement read thus in part

‘BLACKMAIL WON’T HELP YOUR CASE, OSHIOMHOLE TELLS OKONJO-IWEALA

It is instructive at this point in time to state categorically without equivocation that there is nothing “personal” between Okonjo-Iweala and Comrade Adams Oshiomhole in terms of the request by the Edo Governor that Okonjo-Iweala should come clean on the issue of revenue that accrued to the Excess Crude Account.

As much as her Spokesman tries to dramatize his response in defense of his boss, he has shown a manifest uninformed disposition to issues of simple economics of naira and kobo.

Here is a former Minister who has changed her position four times in the last forty days; each position exposing her dubiety of facts and inherent contradictions in the concocted tales she has been weaving on one simple issue: what happened to t5he $2.1b ECA funds?

PERTINENT QUESTIONS.

The simple questions which the Comrade Governor asked were: how come those accruals into the Excess Crude Account got depleted without the knowledge of the National Economic Council? How come monies that were supposed to accrue into the said account cannot be found in it going by the balance sheet provided by the former Minister?

How come the Minister unilaterally dipped her hand into the Excess Crude Account to spend money in defiance of the constitution and the laws of the land? How come that the Minister finds it convenient to publish allocations to States and Local Governments, but refused to publish accruals into the same account for us to know the status of the account at any point in time; how much was left from where she was distributing from?’

  2. I am very sure if Okonjo-Iweala was working for any multi-national company or the US Govt as finance Minister and can not answer satisfactorily the above questions, she will be suspended, persecuted, sacked eventually and may find herself in Prison. All Professional bodies will withdraw her membership.

  3. The issues raised by the Comrade Governor are germaine to transparency and accountability in the management of any enterprise whatsoever. Okonjo- Iweala must address them or be ready to face the consequences of the law. The weakness in the series of responses by Mrs. Okonjo- Iweala and consequent denials speak volumes. The uncontroversial fact is that this woman destroyed our economy.

  4. Osho Baba or whatever you are called.
If you were my father I would have since disowned you.
You are such a shameless man without sense.
Who is the thief here, you are a confirmed Alibaba and you can still talk, well I don't blame you I blame the useless and foolish people whom you used your lies to deceive to make you governor. If not for politics in your life time will you ever dream of getting close to Ngozi, a woman of impeccable character that you well know, can you fit in to her shoes in your life time? No way, you a confirmed male prostitute and a criminal will today open your smelling mouth to talk about what you have no idea of.
shame on Edo people and this country called Nigeria for having people like you as governors.

    1. Is this how you answer the pertinent questions that have been asked? So the way you respond to relevant questions of integrity is to insult the inquirer? Even if the person asking those questions were some street beggar, they are still relevant questions, regardless of Okonjo-Iweala's pedigree.

    3. Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, the immediate pastFINANCE Minister has handed President Muhammadu Buhari a list of corrupt deals approved by Goodluck Jonathan, SaharaReporters has reported.
The online news medium claimed that Okonjo-Iweala has been quietly cooperating with Buhari’s administration. “In an attempt to curry favor with the new government, Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala recently directed officials of her polling agency, NOI Polls, to give President Buhari a 70 per cent approval rating among Nigerians,” SaharaReporters said.
“The polling results were simply cooked up,” a professional pollster told US-based news platform, noting that, “prior to the 2015 general elections, the former minister’s fake polling organization kept repeating that Mr. Jonathan approval rating was up even as his political fortune plummeted.”
SaharaReporters also learned that former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, is also actively cooperating with the Buhari administration. “Mrs. Alison-Madueke had struck a deal with the new government to submit a document to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) exposing her collaborators at the NNPC.
“The former Petroleum minister, who wasONE of the closest cabinet members to Mr. Jonathan—and the mastermind of numerous money laundering deals on behalf of the former president—currently shuttles between the United Kingdom and Switzerland. A source close to Mrs. Alison-Madueke said the former minister was receiving treatment in the UK related to breast cancer,” SaharaReporters claimed.
It would be recalled that SaharaReporters reported that several sources in Abuja, including aides of Buhari, said that former President, Goodluck Jonathan sent Emeka Anyaoku, former Commonwealth Secretary General as an emissary to Buhari.
ONE of our sources said Jonathan moved quickly to send powerful intercessors to the Presidency after the Buhari administration began to question massive last-minute withdrawals and disappearance of more than $20 billion in government funds orchestrated by former President Jonathan as well as his closest ministers and aides.
ONE source close to Anyaoku’s desperate mission to President Buhari revealed that he urged the new president to remember that Jonathan voluntarily decided not to contest the results of the March 28, 2015 presidential election, won by Mr. Buhari, on the understanding that he and his administration would not be subjected to a probe.

      THIS IS YOUR MADAM PERFECT......
