The All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused Rivers State governor, Ezebunwo Nyesom Wike, of unfolding a programme of government of nepotism in the state through the recent appointments he made.
The party said Wike appointed two of his relatives, Surveyor Okas Wike, and Architect Nnamdi Obuzor, into the newly constituted board of the Greater Port Harcourt City Development Authority (GPHCDA), which has only eight members.
But the Rivers State government denied nepotism in the appointment of key officers into government agencies and parastatals, saying recent appointments were based on merit.
The APC, in a statement issued in Port Harcourt yesterday and signed by its state publicity secretary, Chris Finebone, alleged that the governor is living up to his threat to give choice positions to his family members and people.
