Police uncover ammunition in Abia school

The Abia State Police Command on Friday recovered a large cache of live ammunition from Nkata Primary School in Umuahia, the state capital.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ezekiel Onyeke, said the recovery followed a tip- off by a teacher.
According to him, pupils discovered the ammunition on the school’s playground.
The PPRO said the police immediately dispatched a team of Explosive Ordinances Department to the spot immediately the information was received.
He said,” The EOD team exhumed 1,233 of 7.62mm. (Long) live ammunition from the dump”.
“The police are still combing the environment to ensure that the area is cleared of arms and ammunition or other explosives.”

Investigate them thoroughly. There might be la link to terrorism. Check if there is any service chief that belong to that area or anywhere around the state.
