Speaker, Yobe House of Assembly, Alhaji Adamu Dala-Dogo, on Wednesday said its out-going fifth assembly passed 24 bills and 59 resolutions in the last four years.
Dala-Dogo disclosed this in his valedictory speech to mark the end of their four years in office.
He said, “in spite of the insurgency suffered by the state, the assembly remained resolute and committed to its legislative duties.
“We have also ensured that throughout our four-year term, we protected the independence of the legislature in the state.”
The Deputy Speaker, Adamu Bello, also said the assembly enjoyed support and cordial working relationship with the executive arm of government.
“The cordial relationship between the two arms translated into provision of democracy dividends to the electorates,” he said, and urged the incoming assembly to continue in the same vein.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that 17 out of the 24 legislators were re-elected, while seven lost out.
