The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), on Friday, urged the public to ignore radio Biafra transmission.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Director, Public Affairs of the commission, Alhaji Awwalu Salihu, made available to newsmen in Abuja.
The statement said the commission had become aware of a pirate radio station transmitting seditious and divisive content contrary to the provisions of the Nigeria Broadcasting Code and law.
It assured the public that it was working in conjunction with security forces to track the source of the broadcast.
It urged the public to ignore the inflammatory content of the broadcast and continue to work toward a strong, united and prosperous nation.
It would be recalled that Radio Biafra caused a stir on social media after it aired some ‘hate messages’.
“True Biafrans must go after the hausa Fulani Yorobber ethnic bigots and dismantle their monumental bundle of illegality and lies against Biafrans. Go after them on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Viber, Whatsapp etc and all the platforms you find yourselves. We have only told them to stop the decades of injustices against us and they having nightmares. The journey has just begun!” Radio Biafra published on Twitter and Facebook. I don't know were these people come from, you think attacking other tribes and people and dividing the country will solve your problem? It will not. Therefore, pls. embrace peace and let us move this country forward. The problem you think you are facing is also faced by other region. So, what is the difference?
ReplyDeleteGhost voices from a defeated foes . If Biafra are serious they should lunch full scale war . But they want to sell Okrika cloth in Nigeria major cities and still make noices of Biafra from comfort zones
ReplyDeleteThe public should ignore them as they ignored Radio Kudirat.
ReplyDeleteThe sponsor of Radio Biafra should be told to seek advises from Wole Soyinka and co, on how Radio Kudirat was formed and managed.
ReplyDeleteIt was never based on ethnicity. It was meant for the emancipation of the people of Nigerians and not for a particular race or ethnic group.
They (sponsor) are like the young idealist asking for a place to stand so he can push the world. What an effort in futility. Please stop the hate talk.
The public should disregard it just like Radio Kudirat
ReplyDeleteall of u r fools
ReplyDeleteYou are a bigger fool with mid-summer-madness.
DeleteBiafra has come to stay, this time it's independent is sure. Welcome to BIAFRA.
ReplyDeleteWake up from your slumber. You are already and always a loosers
DeleteU better go now.I do not know what is wrong with u people.Go to National assembly and asked for referendum so that you are not part of Federal republic. All of you will go hungry. Nigeria of today is more intelligent than that of 60' s.
ReplyDeleteIt is true that the igbos have suffered great injustics in Nigeria, more than any tribe in Nigeria. But I don't support is the hate message being propagated. They have the right ti seek for self definition in the Nigeria context. NIgeria is yet to form a frame work that will accomodate every tribe in Nigeria. They sooner they do that the better. Lets not be deceived by any change the politician claims they are providing. A very clear example is the current Government , are there any Igbo man in high position? How do you want them to feel as part of this Country?
ReplyDeletePlease stop making noise and go, the earlier you go the better for you. No tribe can make progress by hating other tribes because only your votes cannot give u victory. The ibos are there own worst enemies.
