DSS officials ordered to leave Aso Rock

Officials of the Department of State Services attached to the Presidential Villa, Abuja were on Wednesday ordered out of the premises.
The officials belong to the Body Guard Unit of the DSS and had been working in the Presidential Villa since the days of former President Goodluck Jonathan.
The situation, led to the rejection of about 253 new operatives of the DSS recently redeployed from the service’s various state commands to the Presidential Villa.
It was learnt that trouble started for the DSS operatives on Wednesday when a security aide of President Muhammadu Buhari went round offices in the evening to chase the DSS officials out.
He was reported to have said that a directive had been given that they should no longer be allowed access into the premises.
Some of the affected officials who spoke with our correspondent on the condition of anonymity expressed shock over the development.
They however said they would still resume at their beat on Thursday (today) except they receive a contrary directive from their headquarters.
“We were asked to leave the premises or risk arrest. As I am talking to you now, some of us are gathering under the trees while some others have left.
“It is surprising but we have no choice than to resume here again tomorrow (today) and see what will happen.
“The only reason why we may not come here is if we receive any other directive from our headquarters,” one of the officials told newsmen on the telephone.
But the Presidency in a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, said Buhari had not given any order for the expulsion of DSS officials from the Presidential Villa.
The statement read, “Rumours that personnel of the Department of State Services have been expelled from the Presidential Villa are unfounded.
“President Muhammadu Buhari has given no such order.
“While it is true that a reorganisation of security at the Presidential Villa which involves the realignment of personnel from various services is underway, the exercise does not translate to the expulsion of DSS personnel from the premises in any way.
“The changes being made are routine adjustments which are not unexpected in any dynamic environment from time to time.” Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday

Where is the spokesperson to PDP, sorry I meant DSS, Marilyn Ogar?
ReplyDeleteWith the role these DSS people played in the pre-elections hate campaign against Buhari, it would be suicidal to have them around him. In any case, every dignitary has a right to choose those he is comfortable with to guard him, and PMB would be wise not to retain any of these mercenaries.
ReplyDeleteSSS is meant for prevention of crime against d internal security, preservation of all non military classified matter concerning internal security nd generally, intelligence gathering: section 2(3)(a-c) of National Security Agencies Act. But d SSS hv lost focus nd professionalism, dambling into politics, instead of being non-partisan, doing "eye service". SSS doesn't hv business with d protection of VIPs nd villa. The duty to preserve lives nd properties is d responsibility of d police: section 4 of police act. Let them chase d sss into d field for information gathering. And let them try being non partisan nd professional in the course of their duties.
ReplyDeleteThe woman that wanted to ruin her career because of Goodluck Jonathan and his non performing cohort. Mrs. Merilyn Oga and co, are you there. Haven't heard your voice since Jona lost out or is APC not sponsoring Boko Haram again? Hopeless idiot like you. You should go and hide your face in shame.
ReplyDeleteLet PMB form his own guard and let's have rest on that matter abegy.
ReplyDeleteMerilyn Ogar must be probed.
ReplyDeleteA huge sum of money was given to her to smear PMB.
She hate PMB and as such must not be allowed to remain there for one second.
PMB is a complete gentle man, he will leave her alone for God to determine her faith.
One thing for sure, she will leave to regret the rest of her life.
I just can't imagine what she thinks now that power has shifted.
For me, to forgive is human and ...........is divine by God.
all these inhouse fighting are not the reason gmb was elected. one month has gone and he just moved into aso rock and is yet to nominate his ministers. Even if he is a saint he cannever work with only angels but humans
ReplyDeleteHow many weeks did it take GEJ to nominate his ministers? Go check it out before you criticise PMB.
Deletepeople like you will continue to be doing eye service. Bros, your comment doesn't sound like you understand the caption of this write up. Please read it again. The DSS spoke person erred and has to be reprimanded. She was being used by politicians which is not a good signal and this is your comment. This is exactly why we are having issues of Boko Haram because the security personels were compromised. This is the simplest truth. Tell Merilyn Oga to resign honourably since she is your friend.
DeleteIt is expedient for the Presidential Villa to determines who stays and who evaporates into the thin air. Action has started long ago but some Nigerians just pretended as if nothing has happen.
ReplyDeleteSign of a society that lacks organization. Too many people with big titles, yet no understanding of what their job is. Too many empty heads who do not know their jobs but a re being paid fat salaries. This is an incompetent society.
