Buhari, Governors resolve to forgo Bailout Plan.

President Buhari met with the governors of 36 states this morning to discuss on the financial crisis most states are currently facing. At the end of the meeting, President Buhari and the Governors resolved to forego the proposed financial bailout plan.


The governors suggested that the Federal government refund state governors all the money owed them for Federal Government projects carried out in their states. The governors also asked that the tax paid by the Nigeria Natural Liquefied Gas Company be paid into the Federation Account and be shared.


Present at the meeting which held at the Council chambers in the Presidential villa were; Vice President Osinbajo, Governors of Rivers, Ogun, Imo, Gombe, Benue, Delta, Niger, Kano, Katsina, Zamfara, Kogi, Borno, Jigawa, Kebbi, Kwara, Taraba, Ekiti, Ondo, Kaduna, Oyo, Osun, Edo, Anambra, Sokoto, Ebonyi, Lagos, Adamawa, Cross Rivers, Akwa Ibom and Yobe States. Deputy governors of Bayelsa and Plateau states sent in their deputy governors to represent them.

  2. This is better plan than the initially proposed bailout. It shows the President & the Governors are thinking.
    Now, they use their own monies to pay their workers will be learning their lessons too
