It is this type of jumbo pay that attracts crooks to politics. We must demonetise the Nigerian politics. INEC should be mandated to organize a national referendum on whether or not, the National Assembly should be a part time job with a maximum of N12m per annul as take home pay. For the nation to spend a whopping N9.0 billion on the law makers in 4 years when most state and local governments cannot pay salary to their workers is immoral.
ReplyDeleteIt is shameful of these politicians to think they are better than other Nigerians that voted them into power.
ReplyDeleteWe are talking development plans, they are criminally fighting for big salary. Up till now, we live darkness and they concentrate on billion Naira take home.
We better go for part time representation and flush out the enemies of our progress.
Nigerian lawmakers should be compensated at the same rate as teachers and civil servants. Wardrobes? Are these clowns at a fashion show event or are they representing a country where most of the people are dying of hunger, disease, lack of healthcare, etc? You want to be compensated like the lawmakers in the USA and Germany, but we forget that Nigeria is a wretched third world country where mere electricity is a luxury. This is the reason everyone wants to go into politics because that is the only industry that thrives in the country. Teachers in Nigeria are better qualified to do their job than these clowns called lawmakers. So, why are we paying them this type of salary and compensation. You go to the National Assembly chambers and the place is empty because these people are all overseas shopping with their girlfriends using the $1,000 a day that is handed over to them for foreign travel. Are Nigerians plain stupid or what?
ReplyDeleteThis all happens because we the voters made our choices based on sentiments absent of proper thoughts..
ReplyDeleteThis means one person should earn 18 Million Naira for 4 year just to change his cloths and yet they don't put on suit above N100,000 and those foolish agbada. Mcheewwwwwww. Let them come see that the 30,000 Naira suit we put on is more better and attractive then what they claim they want to wear. I diots.
ReplyDeleteThe real change has come, ahaa let's wait and see, the end shall tell, pls Nigerians don't close your eyes open it wide to see the so called change
ReplyDeleteThis value is huge!!! Gosh, I wonder how US will view this after given us $5m. God help this nation!
ReplyDeleteEhn Nigerains voted for change and the change is right here. Wadrobe allowance is one of them. Events are yet to unfold. Please Nigerians stop crying. It is too early.
ReplyDeleteI'm not against emptying Nigeria's treasury into anybody's pocket but it must go round, directors and indeed civil servants in Nigeria cannot be taking peanut home as salaries while school drop outs in politics will be swimming in billions of naira with no serious work to show for it. This is why corruption and stealing will never end. Even me will steal if oppourtuned. Those dis honorable politicians are not well read than me, and are not more hardworking than me. I am a civil servant too.
ReplyDeleteIts more or less a part payment for the mony they used for campagn.
ReplyDeleteTo them, some of you have been paid off. Afterall, some you collected Garry, face caps, biros, books and other petty items (even noodles) from them
Temim you are very correct. Very very. We too in the civil service will start stealing now. This criminals consolidated our salary but did not consolidate theirs. They collect all manner of allowances including hardship allowance but consolidated ours into peanut. The young minds in civil service have started talking and discussing tactises of looting in our various MDAs. They will see and hear.
