Nollywood star actress Omotola Jalade Ekeinde has lambasted Nigerians trekking for politicians in what has now become a new trend for the mostly jobless young Nigerians.
From Suleiman Hashimu, the Lagos to Abuja trekker, who walked a distance of over 700km for president-elect, Mohammadu Buhari, to another die-hard supporter of the president-elect, identified as Abubakar Duduwale, who started a walk from Yola, the capital of Adamawa state to the federal capital Abuja, and a nursing mother who is currently trekking with her 40-day-old baby from Minna to Abuja for Gen. Buhari, the fever keeps spreading round.
Reacting to this, the actress took to social media and wrote: “Silly youths trekking their futures way. You don’t trek to bring awareness to your suffering plights but trek to celebrate politicians?Smh!”.
Also, in defence of Senator-Elect Ben Murray-Bruce who recently started speaking out on corruption in Nigeria, Mrs Omotola wrote: “And to those criticizing @benmurraybruce! Don't you think the Government will see to it that is job opportunity for the youths if they can match from a particular state in the country to Abuja? They are actually trekking for nothing.
