The Comrade Joe Ajaero-led Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has described the chronic fuel scarcity being experienced across the country as war against the citizens and a conscious attempt to subject 170 million Nigerians to economic suicide.
Towards this end, the labour union has threatened to embark on an indefinite strike action should the scarcity continued unabated.
NLC, according to a statement issued today and signed by its deputy president, Comrade Issa Aremu, averred that, “Nigeria is the only country on earth which unacceptably and criminally denies its citizens basic sources of energy; fuel and electricity.”
It, however said it was time all Nigerians stopped agonizing and rose in unison against this ‘agony capitalism.’ Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday

Labour unions in Nigeria should be patriotic enough to support the government to end oil subsidy regime. The good intentions of the regime has been defeated by well organized corrupt cabal in oil industry. The best solution is to end the regime. The money spent in oil subsidy can be channeled to other services such as infrastructure, social services and increase in minimum wage so that people can be able to pay for the cost of oil. Please, Nigerians support government to kick out this corrupt cabals.

ReplyDeleteI am not in support of subsidy removal because its the only thing I am benefiting from government. Those clamoring for the subsidy removal are not being fair. Can someone please tell me any other thing we are benefiting from government.
ReplyDeleteSuppose these billions are used to fund and subsidize other alternative energy like Solar and Ethanol, won't we be better for it. This waste is colossal and no longer sustainable.
