Latest reports say embattled businessman and Peoples Democratic Party Senator-elect from Ogun State, Mr. Buruji Kashamu, may soon be in the net of the National drug Law Enforcement Agency over a report that he is wanted in the United States to face drug-related charges.
The drug law enforcement agency is said to be set to extradite the Ogun State born politician to the United States of America to answer drug related accusations proffered against him.
It will be recalled that Kashamu had dragged the inspector-general of police and 11 others before a Federal High court sitting in Lagos, asking it to enforce his fundamental human right to freedom of movement.
Other respondents in the fundamental rights suit are: Chairman, Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Chairman, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Director General, Department of State Security (DSS), The Interpol, National Central Bureau (NCB) and attorney-general of the federation (AGF).
Others include: The clerk of the National Assembly of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, The National Security Adviser to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission, Nigeria Custom Services, the Nigeria Immigration Service, and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.
The politician is specifically urging the court for an order restraining the defendants and their agents from arresting, detaining, or otherwise effecting his abduction upon spurious allegations.
He is also seeking an order directing the clerk of the National Assembly to accord him every facility and privilege due to him as a senator-elect of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday

ReplyDeleteSince there is no hiding place anymore and PDP lost election, the best option for you is to go and clear your name in US first before taking up any political post in Nigeria of today.
You claim you are not wanted in US. Go there first, and if you are confirmed innocent, come back home. But your refusal to go means you are not clean.
