The crisis rocking the Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, yesterday deepened as the PDP Youth Leaders’ Forum removed its leader, Mr Jide Ladehinde. He was replaced with the Mainland local government youth leader, Mr Malomo Adelabi. A dissident group within the Lagos State PDP had last week removed the state chairman of the PDP, Capt Tunji Shelle (retd).
The PDP youths, however, pledged their loyalty to Shelle describing his removal as “condemnable, and in the interest of the opposition”. Addressing newsmen in Lagos, Publicity Secretary of the youth group, Mr Abiodun Abari faulted the role of the party’s Youth Leader condemning the “way and manner the aggrieved persons rushed to press without exploring available options to resolve their grievances internally.”
