Borno pastor writes Buhari

A Borno State-born Pastor Kallamu Musa-Dikwa on Wednesday wrote President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari on the need to support the emergence of a northern Christian as the Speaker of the House of Representatives in the 8th Assembly.

It will be recalled that Dikwa had, during the electioneering campaign, accused President Goodluck Jonathan of allegedly bribing officials of the Christian Association of Nigeria to support his presidential ambition in the 2015 election.

The cleric noted that it would be in the interest of the incoming administration to have somebody from the North-East to head the House of Representatives.

In a three-page letter to Buhari, the pastor said the Christian community in the North-East were watching with keen interest the plots by the leadership of the All Progressive Congress to scheme out and marginalised Christians in the region “in the yet to be announced power sharing arrangements of the party.”

Dikwa told the President-elect that there were party stalwarts that were already insensitive to the distribution of position by consciously scheming out Christian representatives in the National Assembly.

  2. This pastor has started this post election religious bigotry again. When do we learn to understand that religion, ethnicity should not be a yardstick for any office holding. We need honest and dedicated citizens, after all these religions are not helping to stem corruption amongst our public servants.

  3. I am a Christian, but I object to this whole business of undermining democracy by asking the President to tamper with the process so that someone of a particular faith or ethnicity emerge as leader. Let's campaign for a clean, democratic process. I believe that manipulation of the process to favour a particular candidate is ungoldly.

  4. Nonsense man, you took part in the grand orchestrated conspiracy against a Christian president and now whining. Now that you have your desired Islamic government that will protect you, can we just have the quiet please? Face your cross. You should have known that APC is an Islamic party before you joined hands with them. Now that they have wiped out or displaced almost 50% of the Christian population in the North, you may well just change your religion to Islam.
