Stephen Keshi, the out-of-job Super Eagles Head Coach, is expected to sign a two-year contract extension with the Nigeria Football Federation on April 17.
The contract, when signed, will see Keshi return as Super Eagles handler after his initial contract with the NFF expired after the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil in 2014.
Mohammed Sanusi, the Secretary-General of the NFF, told newsmen in Abuja on Tuesday that the contract, which would be signed on Friday, would see the coach put pen to paper on his new job.
“By the grace of God on Friday, the Super Eagles will have a coach. Nigerians have been very patient on this issue, so, it’s just only two days remaining for the coach to sign a contract.
“We cannot announce a coach without signing a contract,” Sanusi said.
The NFF scribe added that efforts were being intensified to sign a new kit sponsorship deal to boost the signing of a coaching deal for the Super Eagles.
“We are working assiduously to ensure we get a kit company that will sponsor our teams. It is not good to disclose the level of discussion with the would-be companies until the deal is finally sealed,” he added.
Saunsi, however, commended the country’s male and female football teams for qualifying for the 2015 All Africa Games scheduled for Congo Brazzaville from September 4 to 19. Click to signup for FREE news updates, latest information and hottest gists everyday
