Four die celebrating Buhari’s victory in Abuja



About Four persons were killed on Tuesday night during the celebration of the victory of the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, General Muhammadu Buhari, retd in Lugbe, along the Umaru YarAdua Way, Abuja.

Soon after the declaration of Buhari as winner of the March 28 Presidential election, Abuja and its suburbs were thrown into wild jubilation with persons majorly the youths chanting songs of Sai Buhari holding brooms and sticks.

The joyous crowd trooped out to celebrate Buhari, thereby making vehicular movement impossible as motorists, drivers and road users had no choice than to join in shouting Sai Buhari to guide against possible smashing of the windscreen on the Umaru Yar’Adua Way, otherwise called, Airport Road.



An eye witness told Vanguard that the four persons died while trying to climb the Lugbe Pedestrian Bridge by Julius Berger Junction with the motor cycles and then fell.

According to the eye witness, the celebrates who were carried away wanted to do theirs in a very unique manner by climbing the high pedestrian bridge with their Motor cycles, popularly called Okada, just as others were said to have sustained various degrees of injuries in the course of the celebration.
As at Wednesday morning, there were stains of blood at the scene of the incident.
