The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers on Wednesday urged All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state to congratulate Chief Nyesom Wike, the governor-elect on his victory in the gubernatorial election. Mr Emma Okah, the Chairman, PDP’s Publicity Committee stated this while briefing journalists in Port Harcourt. Okah condemned in totality the spurious allegations of rigging being peddled by the APC intended to smear PDP’s victory in the state.
‘’We urge the losers to be courageous and honourable, and if truly they are democrats, to emulate our beloved President Goodluck Jonathan in showing the spirit of sportsmanship. ‘’Rather than fan the embers of disunity and peddling falsehood, they should congratulate the winners.’’ Okah, who congratulated Rivers people on their support for PDP in the face of intimidation by the ruling party in the state, said the victory marked a new dawn in the state.

He also observed that the security agencies performed their duty well by protecting and securing voters without much challenges. Okah also thanked the media, on behalf of the PDP, for its objectivity and neutrality in the coverage and reportage of the elections. Please let us stop deciving ourselves, unless we still want to dwell in the past and the kind of life PDP has shown nigerians... what happened in rivers state cannot be called an election both by INEC standard or internationl standard, such an election can never be accepted by any government or law... PDP, GEJ and Wike you can try but this truth be remembered , wike can never never never never never rule rivers state... let him be careful too. #bringbackourgirls

ReplyDeletewhat of what happened in Lagos, kaduna, kano, katsina or jigawa?. Those can be call election cos APC won?. Dont live in a fool's paradise. the elections all over the country were won by the best riggers and the losers accepted their fste except where APC loses. Maybe the southern NigeriansApC are makingvthe biggest noises just because Buhari won and that had gone to their heads. they should better face reality and move on
ReplyDeleteThe election tribunal will sooner than later call for a fresh election to be conducted, there is no doubt about that and by then, there will be no police and military under the control of Wike and PDP. A level playing ground will see Wike and PDP washed into the creek waters followed by a possible prosecution for the killings of innocent lives. Whoever congratulates Wike is very dishonest to the people of Rivers State. There was no election in this State.
